High/Low - May 22nd + Freebie

My LOW for this week was that it is already so hot here! I just roast every day. It would help if we got our swamp cooler going - but time and the tools have prevented us - hopefully soon. I just really hate the heat. I can tell this summer is going to be so hot this year. UGH!

My HIGH for this week was that I really accomplished a lot. My house is in pretty good shape - it has quite a bit of clutter - but it's clean. I really need to do the spring cleaning I never got around to doing, but that will just have to wait. But I got 2 kits completed, plus some little extra product packs to go with them. I'm excited to be a designer at SCRAPWOW now and have started getting my products in the store there. I've made dinner just about every night. Finally got the laundry all done and put away - so I'm on the right track. It always feels good to accomplish something!

So do you have a ScrapWow Membership? I'm so excited to be a designer there now. It's a whole different kind of site - and I'm just getting to know my way around a little. There isn't a forum - but it is a club membership - where for a yearly amount - you get a special kit every month that is only available to club members - plus a lot of extras. Plus you can have your own Scrapbook site to put your layouts and stuff there! I feel very privileged to be a part of it now. PLUS they do have a store as well (don't have to have a membership to buy here) and some very well known designers sell there. Check out my store HERE, I'm just starting to get my products in there.

The exciting thing for me - is that I am the featured designer in June - and so one of my new kits will be the kit that you can get for June if you have a membership. I think it turned out well and I have a sneak preview for you below along with a little freebie that goes with it! I hope you will consider getting a membership because that's the only way you can get this kit. Hint Hint Also I wll have some fun Sequels (extra products) that go with this kit that will be for sale in my ScrapWow Store in June that you can buy, even if you don't have a ScrapWow membership. AND make sure you go to RAKScraps after June 15th to check out my special Mega Kit Add-on that I have had the opportunity to create! You'll be able to purchase it in the ScrapWow store for only $3.95! It's an amazing deal!

Okay here's your SNEAK PREVIEW of the June Membership Kit at ScrapWow:

And I have made a little freebie scatterz for you today! ENJOY AND HAPPY MEMORIAL WEEKEND! I hope you all have a wonderful safe time with your families!

Project 365: Week 21

Monday, May 18, 2009

We are looking forward to a week from today - we are going to go play at the DAY OUT WITH THOMAS on Memorial Day. We will participate in the fun activities beforehand and then get to ride on the train with Thomas the Engine pulling. I told the kids about it today and they were so excited, so we got out our Thomas the Train Set for awhile. JJ especially LOVED IT!

Tuesday, May 19, 2009

The weather has been so hot lately - and we still haven't gotten our swamp cooler running yet. And all this summery weather has gotten me in the mood for FRUIT. So I bought a lot of it over the weekend and we have been having fruit salad for snacks. I love that my kids are starting to eat more fruit too! Much healthier snack than we have been doing. And everytime I am cutting up the fruit, I just have to sing the Wiggles song, "Fruit Salad, yummy yummy...."

Wednesday, May 20, 2009

The kids have been taking showers lately - just because it is faster. But they really have been missing bathtime. So tonight, I let them each play in the tub for awhile. They especially loved the bubbles I put in!

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Thursday is usually when I START the laundry. It's one of those mundane things and so I procrastinate it and of course it isn't put away until at least Saturday. Beth hopped in the Dryer today when I was getting clothes out. I swear she is getting cuter every day!

Friday, May 22, 2009

I have really slacked off in making cookies. When I just had JJ, I used to make cookies every week or so. Not sure why I totally stopped doing that. I love chocolate chip cookies, they are my favorite. I just haven't found the time to make them. So today, I decided that we really needed cookies. Pete is coming down here for racquetball and their podcast this week, and so I am making Chicken Enchiladas for dinner and I thought Cookies would be a great dessert tonight. Plus they are just coming out of the oven now and that means JJ can have a warm cookie right after he gets home off the bus! What is better than a warm cookie for snack after school! And it's Friday - and I need chocolate! :)

Saturday, May 23, 2009

The kids had a picnic on our lawn today. They were too cute in their interactions with each other as they played and ate their lunch. JJ was using funny voices for his dinosaur stuffed animal and making his sister laugh.

I want to always remember the cute things that the kids say and I'm trying hard to remember to write these things down. We were out on a drive and it was raining and JJ said in a cute sing-songy voice:

"We're going on a special trip. Do you want to come with us, Rain? Just drop down on the van and we'll take you."

The roses in our yard are blooming. I just love roses. They always remind me of my Grandma Sorensen and the beautiful Peace Roses she had in her yard. I miss her. I can't believe she has been gone for 13 1/2 years now. She lived right next door and I saw her almost everyday of my life up until she died. I hope she is watching out for her family as she always did. Love you grandma.

High/Low - May 17th + Freebie

Sorry that I didn't get this posted on Friday!

My LOW for this Week is that I didn't make it to Round 3 in the SYTYCD Contest. But I'm feeling okay about it now.

My HIGH for this Week
was spending some time on Saturday at Cody and Becki's house. I really enjoy being with them and it's so great to have some family near us. I got to play the Wii for the first time - and I think I could really get addicted to it! Plus it's like a work-out and I definitely need a fun way to get exercising!

This week is Creative Team Appreciation Week and over 100 designers, including me, created a mega kit for our CT Members. Your freebie today is a quickpage created from my part of the MY CT ROCKS Kit! :)

Happy CT Appreciation Week

I want to publicly thank my CT Members: Catlady, Fran, Keli, Lorilee, Nighty, Rebecca, Rona, and Vickie! Thank you for making my designs look so great and for all the help and encouragement you give me! YOU ROCK!

Grateful

I'm so sorry for my whiny post before. I am better now. LOL I'm really glad that I took part in the contest and I'm really glad you all still love me! :) There is so much to be grateful for and I forgot that for a little while.

I really have so much fun things happening for me in the design world. I am grateful that I made it to 2 rounds - I'm grateful that I was even selected in the first place! I am grateful that I was able to get myself known just a little bit more! I'm grateful that my Heavenly Father has given me this creative talent that I have to be able to do this and do it from home so I can still be a wife and mom. I'm grateful for an amazing supportive husband and wonderful kids that put up with me when I am in design mode. And I am extremely grateful for all of you who enjoy my work and make it possible for me to do this! Thank you for your amazing comments and for your purchases and for your friendship! You truly make my life wonderful!

Like I said previously - I really didn't have time for this contest anyways - I have a lot on my plate and it just keeps filling up. I am working really hard right now to prepare for lots of things happening in June for me! Here are some of the exciting things going on in my design world:

- First of all, I am "sort-of" taking June off from design stuff. I meant to REALLY take it off - but things happened and so I am really only taking off from doing my crops/challenges. I will still be around for the most part - although, I will be gone the 2nd week of June - for my annual trek to the Arizona Strip to help my dad and family move the cows from the winter range to the summer range. No internet access or anything like that - I mean, I don't even get a shower for 7 days (or electricity or anything) LOL Anyways, but for the other 3 weeks in June - I will be around - just taking it EASIER and my crops/challenges won't be happening (except for the Digital 365 Challenge).

- I have recently been asked to be a designer at ScrapWow! And I'm so excited. It feels really good to be asked to be a part of a store! So I am working on getting my products there and getting all set up before June - because I am going to be their featured designer in June! So expect some new kits soon there!

- Because I am now at ScrapWow and at 3Scrapateers (same owners - they also own RAKScraps), I have the opportunity to create a kit for the RAKScraps Mega Kit Add-on. And June is my month. Just this week, I completed the kit for it and I am rather proud of it! So make sure you check it out on June 15th when it is released!

- From June 20-July 4th - I am the Featured Designer at Digitals! You'll want to come and shop my 40% sale, read my interview, get my Daily Download (working on the kit right now), and come to my crop on July 1st for extra freebies and fun!

- Oh and I'm really going to try and get my HAPPILY EVER AFTERZ Kit done in June too! I know you are all anxiously awaiting it - me too! :)

- And I also need to catch up on my Project 365 layouts. I have been blogging and keeping track of journaling and photos for every day, but I'm several weeks behind in the actual layouts - I'm hoping this can happen in June!

- Also in June - I turn 30 years old and it is my 10th Wedding anniversary!

And of course all of this needs to be done before June - so I am scrambling the last couple of weeks here to get it all done! But I truly have so much to be grateful for and to look forward to.

Thanks again for your support!

My Heart Hurts...

I'm so sad. I didn't make it to Round 3 of the So You Think You Can Design Contest. You all still like me right? LOL

I need to go mope and get over this so I can get busy. I really didn't have time to do this contest anyways, so I guess it is a good thing. And I did make it to 2 Rounds - so it is a good thing and I did learn some things - so it was worth it. Just feeling a little sad that I didn't go further.

SYTYCD - Round 2 - FREE KIT!!!

Well, I made it to ROUND 2 of the So You Think You Can Design Contest! Very exciting!

Round 2's challenge was to create a kit for Project 365! Well, of course I already have done my DIGITAL 365 Kit and all it's extras and of course I do the challenge every month. So I was a little disappointed and it WAS a little harder to come up with something that I haven't already done in my kit, but I decided to just go with it and make another Add-on to my Digital 365 Kit with just a little bit of a different twist in the colors and templates and stuff. It will still go really well with my Digital 365 kit, but hopefully it will go well on its own as well!

I will find out on Saturday whether I get to go onto Round 3! So cross your fingers for me!

Anyways, you can now download my kit. Please check out all the other amazing entries, especially those of you doing the Project 365 this year - you won't want to miss out on all the FREE Kits that can help you scrap it! Don't forget to leave comments! I want to hear what you think about my kit!

SORRY, LINK IS GONE - it will be going in my stores shortly.

Project 365: Week 20

Monday, May 11, 2009

Being a Daddy's girl myself - I really love seeing the relationship that has been developing between Joey and Beth. They share some wonderful qualities and they have a great time together.

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

I got to go on JJ's field trip with him today. We went to Salem Pond, to the Fishing Day 2009! It was really fun to see JJ holding the pole and catching a fish (with the help of some wonderful fishermen). I wish I could have captured the complete delight on his face as he reeled in the fish. I wasn't able to get the right angle and there was so many people around. But it was still very fun. We spent a couple of hours there at the pond, fishing and eating hot dogs and potato salad. It was also really fun to see JJ with his classmates and teacher!

Wednesday, May 13, 2009

I love the beauty of trees. We live in a trailer park with not a lot of space, but we do have a little yard and I'm very grateful for that. And we do have lots of trees around us and they are so beautiful. I walked out on the porch today to check on the kids and happened to glance at the trees and they just looked very beautiful to me. The contrast of the green leaves, the brown bark and the sky was just a wonderful sight!

Thursday, May 14, 2009

I have spent the better part of the last 2 weeks working on kits for the So You Think You Can Design Contest. I applied several weeks ago and was selected as one of the 80 participants. I was so excited to make it in. Although I had the disappointment this week of not making it to Round 3, it really has been a good experience. And I am extremely grateful for all of the people who enjoy my work and make it possible for me to do this! They truly make my life wonderful!

The Young Women in our ward held a Luau tonight as a fundraiser to help them go to Girls Camp. As it is Joey's Racquetball and Podcast night and due to having only one vehicle, we opted to get the takeout dinner instead of the sit-down dinner at the church. Meat and rice, vegetables, fruit, chips and salsa, salad, and rainbow sherbet was the meal and it was so yummy! Even the kids ate it all. Joey got the Pulled Pork which he didn't really care for, but the kids and I enjoyed our Hawaiian Chicken!

Saturday, May 16, 2009

Tonight we had our monthly dinner with Cody and Becki. Becki's parents and sister also joined us. We had Hawaiian haystacks and it was great. Yea, I guess we are on a Hawaii kick this week. And Prez (Becki's Dad), made us some homemade ice cream. Yummy! We also got to play on Cody and Becki's Wii. I had not played before and I really enjoyed it. I usually don't get into video games and stuff - but this was fun. JJ loved it too! I think the Wii is definitely going to have to be on our Christmas wish list this year.

Sunday, May 17, 2009

Joey and I love sharing movies and tv shows together. But we do have differing opinions often on what our favorites are. But we both love the BACK TO THE FUTURE Trilogy. We introduced the first wonderful movie to our kids today and they got a kick out of it. I love sharing these things with my kids as they get older. It's so much fun!

The kids were eating some lunch and Joey and I were on our computers. We were eavesdropping on their cute conversation about their drinks which was actually Strawberry-Kiwi Juice.

JJ: "I'm drinking root beer."
Beth: "I'm drinking Moonberry Juice, is that ok?"
JJ: "We're pretending, it can be whatever we want!"

High/Low - May 8th + Freebie

My LOW for this week is that once again I have overloaded myself with design projects. When will I learn to say no or I don't have time? LOL

My HIGH for this week is that my parents are here visiting. It's always great to be with them and we don't get to do that enough. And to top that off, I got to go to the Draper Temple with them and Cody & Becki (my brother and sister-in-law) and that's always a wonderful thing!

I DO have a freebie for you. It is a quickpage created from my kit for the SYTYCD Contest. Make sure you go check it out and download it while you can and cross your fingers for me - I find out tomorrow if I make it to the second round!

Project 365: Week 19

Monday, May 4, 2009

The kids really love playing on the computer. I guess it totally makes sense - Joey and I are always on our computers. JJ hadn't played on StarFall at home for awhile, so the kids got to play for awhile.

Tuesday, May 5, 2009

I had seen this idea on several of the blogs I read. You take all the snacks for your kids for the day and you put them in the slots of a muffin tin. And then when the kids want a snack they go to their tin. I need to get new muffin tins for them, but they LOVED this idea. I think I will get some new ones for them and maybe decorate them or something. What a fun thing and I think this will be perfect this summer!

Wednesday, May 6, 2009

I was able to go to another wonderful Scrap Girls Luncheon today. I really love these excursions. They totally rejuvenate me. Beth got to come with me today and she was so good! It was kind of bitter-sweet though as Anna is moving to Texas and she won't be able to come to our luncheons anymore. It was really good to visit with her and I hope things go so well for her! We'll miss her!

I gave the kids some goldfish crackers and sent them outside to play. A little while later, JJ came in and said, "Mom, I shared my goldfish with some ants, is that ok?" and then "The ants were looking for food so I crumbled up the goldfish for them."

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Last night, my parents and my brother, Lane arrived. We haven't had them come and stay with us in about a year, so it was a real treat. I can't believe my little brother is 16 and so involved in everything. My parents came because Lane got to go to a leadership conference (HOBY) up here in Aspen Grove for the rest of the week. So they took him there this morning and then they hung out with me and Beth for the rest of the day. We did some errands while Beth was at school and then Joey took a half day off to watch the kits, while I, my parents, and Cody & Becki got to go do a session in the new Draper Temple. We went out to dinner at Sizzlers after and it was really fun to visit and be together.

Friday, May 8, 2009

Beth has been so excited to have her Grandma here. She really misses not living right next door to her Grandparents. Grandpa took a day-trip to Wyoming today on his friend Max's truck, Joey was at work, JJ was at school, and so after Grandma went to her Aunt's Funeral (Margaret Mathews), we had her all to ourselves. We hung out at home and did a few errands.

Saturday, May 9, 2009

We spent some time at the playground today. It's so fun to see my kids enjoy themselves and to see them interact with each other. Beth's favorite thing is the swings and she is constantly saying, "Push me, high to the sky!" JJ loves the slides the best and he loves to have you watch him play!

Sunday, May 10, 2009

After church today, we were able to have lunch with my parents and brother. It's been awhile since I spent Mother's Day actually with my Mom. It has been so fun to have them staying here this week. My mom is an amazing woman who always gives her all to everything she does. She's a great example of faith and service. One of the most amazing things about my mom is that no matter what calling she has in the church - she truly goes above and beyond for it. As a Young Woman leader, as a Sunday School Teacher, as a Primary music leader, etc....she is always prepared and willing to do anything and everything for those she teaches. It's really amazing to me. My mom has always supported me in whatever I wanted to do and I am so grateful to her for bringing me up in the church and for always being there for me. THANK YOU MOM and Happy Mother's Day!

High/Low - May 1st + Freebie

Okay, so I have really slacked off on my blog lately and haven't done my HIGH/LOW for a month or so. But I'm trying to get back on track! :)

My LOW for this week is that my designing has been so slow. I have a lot on my to-do list and I have tons of ideas and inspiration, but things have still been very slow. I am very happy with what I am creating, but it is going at a snail's pace. I think it is because I have too many ideas and not enough time to accomplish them. I need to learn to focus on each step instead of thinking of everything that I have to do.

My HIGH for this week is the delight of my children. I have really appreciated the nice weather we have been having. It's a little too hot already, but it has allowed my children to play outside and many wonderful things have come from it. They have been happier. They have been playing together better. They have been sleeping better. Their behavior is better. They laugh more. Lots of great things!

So I FINALLY have a new freebie for you! It coordinates with my upcoming new products. I am working on a new set of products that coordinate with my HEROEZ & PLAYMATEZ COLLECTION. It is called HAPPILY EVER AFTERZ and has several new products that I am working on...

INCLUDING...my NSD Grab Bag at Digitals - you will get 3 new products that coordinate with this new collection for only $3! Available until May 8th. If you have princess pages to do - these will totally be helpful to you!

Pick it up NOW in the store HERE. While you are there, check out the 30% off store-wide sale and all the other fun games and activities that are going on for NSD this week!

So here is the freebie for you. This is a hint into the HAPPILY EVER AFTERZ Kit and my NSD GRAB BAG. The other products in this collection will be in my stores as soon as I get them done - hopefully within the next few weeks! Have a great weekend and please feel free to let me know what you think! I love getting comments from all of you!

Project 365: Week 18

Monday, April 27, 2009

The kids have been enjoying being outside in all the Spring weather. I feel really grateful that I have a yard (although small) that the kids can go and play. I love seeing them use their imaginations and enjoy running around and just being kids. They have even been playing really well with each other. Today, when JJ got off the bus I gave them some drinks and snacks and sent them out to play. A few minutes later, I went to check on them and this is what I found. They had overturned their wagon and was using it as a table for their snacks. Just cute kids!

Tuesday, April 28, 2009

All the playing outdoors lately has made the kids sleep much better at night and I am so happy about that. I really think it helps them work out all their little stresses and makes them so much happier. Plus they get more rest and that has helped them even more! Yay! I went to tuck them in tonight and I found them already in bed (SURPRISE) and all snuggled in with their favorite stuffed animal friends.

Wednesday, April 29, 2009

Some of the things I love about JJ:

- His laugh and his smiles are so contagious.
- He looks like his Daddy!
- He loves playing on the computer.
- Each step of progress in his development, is so much more appreciated and enjoyed.
- He makes me stronger.
- He has an amazing memory.
- He eats just about anything.
- He loves movies.
- He's a bustle of energy.
- He likes giving hugs.

Thursday, April 30, 2009

Some of the things I love about Beth:

- She has so much self confidence.
- She gives the best hugs.
- She loves all the girly things, while still loving to play in the dirt and other tomboy stuff too.
- She's completely beautiful.
- She has her Dad's sense of humor.
- She says the cutest things.

Friday, May 1, 2009

I bought a new treat maker and it arrived today. These star popsicles were a big hit with the kids. I bet I will be making them A LOT this summer!

Saturday, May 2, 2009

I wasn't feeling very well today and I had a lot to do, so Joey took the kids up to the rec center for a little while and they played some racquetball. I think if they keep playing with Joey, that they are going to get pretty good!

Sunday, May 3, 2009

After church we had a good time hanging out together watching some "church movies." I love seeing my kiddos with their daddy. It somehow makes me love them all even more!

And here is my weekly layout:
