Life 365: Week 47

Monday, November 15, 2010

My first try at making beef stew tonight. It wasn't the best, but not too bad. The kids seemed to like it.

Tuesday, November 16, 2010

The kids had penny wars at school this week and so we had some fun emptying out our piggy bank and sorting and counting.

Wednesday, November 17, 2010

I love Fall sunsets. This was the beauty for tonight - the picture doesn't do it justice. The kids and I stared at it for as long as we could before it was just too cold!

Thursday,
November 18, 2010

Joey got some new dice and the kids and him had some fun tossing them for awhile tonight.

Friday, November 19, 2010

I was in the kitchen all day today, preparing for the weekend. I made rolls, egg noodles, mashed potatoes, and pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. And of course tried to get most of the cleaning up done. My parents arrived at 2 and we visited while I finished up my baking. Then when the kids got home from school, we turned on a movie for them and Grandpa and my mom and I headed out the door. We had a nice visit and then we got to experience the Time Out for Women. I loved hearing the music and the inspirational messages. It was a great evening.

Saturday, November 20, 2010

We started the day extremely early to get up to Salt Lake City for the rest of the Time Out for Women. I throughly enjoyed the messages of Hope that we received and it was something I really needed. Joey spent the day with the kids - Beth had a birthday party as well. I went to dinner with my parents and friends before we started home. Unfortunately, we hit a snowstorm and we were pretty wore out by the time we got back to my home. We watched a little Utes football (they won) and then went to bed.

Sunday, November 21, 2010

My parents left this morning. It was nice to have time with them both and it was nice to hear that they got home safely - even though they had a little storms on their way. Beth coughed all night and even though she was supposed to give a talk today in church, we decided she better stay home. She did finally convince her daddy to play tea party with her. Unfortunately our Colts lost by a field goal today and so it was pretty disappointing.

Life 365: Week 46

Monday, November 8, 2010

Today was Beth's first day as a Daisy Girl Scout. She was so excited to participate and get her uniform. I hope it is something she will enjoy! We all went to her special Investure meeting tonight where she received her daisy pin.

Tuesday, November 9, 2010

Beth's having a great week. Today when she came home she was honored as one of the Students of the Week! Yay Beth!

Wednesday, November 10, 2010

I love the yummy food that is so great for Fall weather. We had potato soup in bread bowls tonight and it was delicious!

Thursday,
November 11, 2010

Today was Veteran's Day. I'm so blessed to live in this country and I honor all those wonderful people who serve the United States of America. I really loved seeing all the flags flying as I drove Beth to school.

Friday, November 12, 2010

I'm so grateful for afternoon kindergarten. Mornings seem to be getting harder and harder for me so its nice to be able to go back to bed after JJ gets off to school. I've also enjoyed having some one-on-one time with Beth after I get back up - with lunch, conversation, and our drives to her school!

Saturday, November 13, 2010

We had practice for the primary program this afternoon and the kids did pretty good. They loved the pizza party afterwards and then they got to play in the leaves before Aaron and Joey got them raked up and put away. It's fun to see them enjoy the simple things.

Sunday, November 14, 2010

The Primary program was today. Beth did a fabulous job on her part. JJ did okay - at least he got up there and tried - he was really nervous and you couldn't understand what he said, but glad he did it anyways. The primary music still touches me and it was nice to listen and join in now that I am a primary teacher.

Life 365: Week 45

Monday, November 1, 2010

After the weekend of replacing the floor, its nice to see the kids room clean and organized. At least for today!

Tuesday, November 2, 2010

We still have leftover Dirt Dessert from Sunday and its such a delicious treat!

Wednesday, November 3, 2010

I hate the season of being sick. We have all had a hard time getting rid of our colds completely. These wonderful little vaporizers are awesome!

Thursday,
November 4, 2010

Our lawn is filling with leaves and I am reminded again that I am totally becoming a Fall person!

Friday, November 5, 2010

More snowflakes today - but it didn't last long. I spent some time taking some pictures around the house.

Saturday, November 6, 2010

A fun Saturday. We took the kids to Megamind and then after the kids went to bed, Joey and I went out to dinner and brought home some Redbox movies which we watched together. I love it when we get to have date night!

Sunday, November 7, 2010

My little JJ is getting so big. After church today, I took some photos of JJ for his baptism program and I was delighted with this one!

Yummy Halloween cookies are always great for a treat!

Tuesday, October 26, 2010

Snow today - it was gone before the day was over, but it was a nice change!

Wednesday, October 27, 2010

The kids love dressing up and we have new costumes this year. Beth was excited to be Jasmine and JJ is Superman! So much fun!

Thursday,
October 28, 2010

We spent lots of time getting things ready for the Halloween parties at school tomorrow. I'm in charge of JJ's class party and I had a lot of fun creating these fun treats!

Friday, October 29, 2010

The kids had their Halloween at school today, beginning with their little parade! We got to hear JJ's class do their monthly song time for us too. And JJ's class party went really well and I think they all had a great time. We finally got around to carving our pumpkins tonight and since Joey was gone to do his podcast - I did the carving. I was actually proud of how they turned out. JJ's pumpkin was Jack from Nightmare before Christmas and its my favorite ever pumpkin! Beth's was a girly vampire pumpkin! The kids wouldn't touch all the gooey stuff so basically I did all the work but they were thrilled anyways!

Saturday, October 30, 2010

What a day. It started with taking Beth to sign-up for Girls Scouts. When we came home, Joey had all the kids bedroom torn apart. Their stuff was everywhere and they were pulling up the floor to replace it. We have had horrible constant leaking problems that we just can't seem to get rid of. Joey and Aaron spent all day replacing the floor and I spent the rest of the night putting the bedroom back together. It's not perfect, but its better than it was. I was so sick and because of all the fixing going on and the kids having colds too - we just decided not to do trick-or-treating this year. They had lots of candy still and so it worked out.

Sunday, October 31, 2010

Cody, Becki and Mallory came over for Halloween Dinner. We had Mummy Dogs (hot dogs wrapped in biscuit dough) and Bat Wings (Mac & Cheese made with bow tie pasta) and Dirt Dessert. It was delicious and it was fun to hang out with Cody and his family. Mallory was a hoot and its been so fun seeing her grow up. She was dancing to Beth's Pony Castle music and making my kids laugh so hard!

Life 365: Week 43

Monday, October 18, 2010

I love seeing the progression in JJ's reading ability. It has been very slow in coming, but he is finally reading. It's fun to see him want to read to his sister too!

Tuesday, October 19, 2010

JJ's loves the special activities and the motivational things they have in his classroom. He loves earning his little prizes!

Wednesday, October 20, 2010

The kids ditched school today and we went up to Salt Lake City to watch Lane, Colby, and Clint in the State Cross Country. Colby did amazing and got 3rd place. Unfortunately, Lane didn't do as well as usual and he didn't place. It was kind of a bummer - it being his senior year - but he did earn Academic All-state and that's wonderful. It was fun to be with all the family.

Thursday,
October 21, 2010

The kids have enjoyed doing Halloween artwork this week at school! Holidays really make everything so fun!

Friday, October 22, 2010

Although, its late in the season, I have been wanting to go for a nice Fall Drive and see the colors and leaves. I finally decided tonight was the night. After the kids got home from school, we headed up the canyon - and even though it has better colors earlier in the season - there was still lots of beautiful leaves to gather and enjoy! The kids really enjoyed it.

Saturday, October 23, 2010

Joey is spending the weekend in Salt Lake City with Pete doing podcasts and fun guy time. So tonight, pizza was just the thing for me and the kids!

Sunday, October 24, 2010

The kids were so excited when Joey got home tonight - they really missed having him home this weekend and couldn't wait to have him join in their playtime!

It is Red Ribbon Week at the kids' school this week and today was HAT DAY. The kids loved being able to wear their baseball caps to school and I think they looked adorable!

Tuesday, October 12, 2010

Crazy Hair Day today. JJ and Beth have really loved having these special days this week - it has been really fun for them!

Wednesday, October 13, 2010

Joey has worked really long hours this week and its been fun to have "picnics" in the van, as we take him dinner. The kids and I have drove the long way to Joey's work and enjoyed our little drives with conversation and dinner!

Thursday,
October 14, 2010

More computer problems. I finally got my fan fixed this week and its so nice to have it back and running well!

Friday, October 15, 2010

What characters! The kids loved having Pajama Day at school and loved coming home to wrap themselves up in their blankets. I love it when they play so well together!

Saturday, October 16, 2010

We got our annual family photos today. They didn't turn out as well as I had hoped and it wasn't a very good experience, but we did get a couple of decent photos - plus it was free!

Revised Over the Hump Schedule

I'm so sorry everyone, my life has been so busy lately. I know I have been a flake the past few months, but my personal life has just been crazy and there's just not much I can do about it. I really want to focus on my kids and my family during these last 2 months of the year so I am needing to minimize my chat schedule - so I will only have 2 more chats this year. I hope you all understand and hope you can spend more time with your families as well! I will also be taking some time and prayer into my chat schedule for 2011 and will let you know as soon as possible what I decide!

But for now:

November 17 - No crop

Tuesday, November 23 - Designer Spotlight with Cindy

December 1 - No crop - This is usually our Book ScrapZ Crop - but I'm afraid I'm going to have to cancel it and we'll start with "The Hobbit" in January

December 8 - No Crop

December 15 - Designer Spotlight with Lifesong Kreations

December 22 - No Crop

December 29 - No Crop
