Photo Tag!

I was tagged by one of my friends, Cindy Lou! :) Thanks!

This is the challenge:

Go to your photo folder in your computer.

Go to the 6th folder of photos.

Go to the sixth picture.

Put the picture on your blog and description of it.

Invite six friends to join the challenge. Link them in your blog and let them know they have been challenged.

Here's my Photo:

This photo just makes my heart ache. I can't believe how fast JJ has grown. This picture was taken on July 19, 2004 at my family's ranch (Sink Valley). He was 2 1/2 and had finally started to walk on his own the week before. It was an amazing step and one that we had been anxiously awaiting for a long time. So anyways, we went on a little walk down the dirt road from the house and JJ just sat down right in the middle of the road and gave me the cutest smile. I haven't seen this photo in awhile - so glad I did this!

And I'm just going to tag anyone who would like to participate! Let me know if you do, would love to see your photos!

Project 365: Week 5

Monday, January 26, 2009

Today was JJ's 7th Birthday. I can't believe how fast time has gone. JJ was so excited for today. JJ's favorite color is yellow, so we made a yellow cake with some chocolate frosting with some great sprinkles and added his favorite spiderman action figures. One of the things that JJ is really good at is matching games and he loves them. So we finally got him MEMORY and a fun little stuffed puppy (he's been wanting a dog) - it's an e-pet, so we are going to get him set up online so he can play the fun games that they have that go with the puppy. We had pizza for dinner since that is one of JJ's favorite meals. It's so wonderful to see JJ so happy - his smile goes from ear to ear. Beth was completely jealous of all the attention JJ got today, but I'm glad we were able to make it his day. I think he had a good time.

Tuesday, January 27, 2009

My poor little Beth is sick today. She was so sad to not be able to go to school. But she was all sniffles and coughs. So she sat and watched several episodes of the old My Little Pony shows (I used to watch them on Saturday morning when I was a little girl).

Wednesday, January 28, 2009

I love my kids' little feet and they take after me with not wanting shoes or socks on. Even in the winter we walk around the house without anything on our cold little toeses.

Tonight I had to put the kids to bed before Joey got home from work. But the kids were still awake when he arrived, so he went in to say goodnight. Beth hugged her daddy and whispered, "Daddy, I knew you would come." She just says the sweetest things.

Thursday, January 29, 2009

Bethie's cold has turned into the flu. My poor girl. The day began with having to clean up her throw-up off the floor. Plus she was warm to the touch all day and was obviously sick because she actually took a long nap, didn't eat hardly anything, and actually let me hold her without squirming away every couple of minutes. So basically I accomplished nothing all day - just sat and held my girl, which was actually the best thing in the world.

Friday, January 30, 2009

JJ & Beth LOVE matching games. When JJ got home from school today, they started fighting over JJ's birthday present, the MEMORY game. They just wouldn't play together and I was trying to get some things done. So I found some matching games online for JJ to play while I set up the Memory game in the kitchen for Beth. They played for a couple of hours without any more fighting and it was great. Even better, I was able to stand in the hall and get both of them playing their games in the picture. :)

I had the opportunity to spend a few hours with my college roommates today. I actually grew up with Amber in Orderville and we went to Dixie College together. We met Brianne there and we had some amazing memories in St. George. Amber was only there with us for a year and then she went on to Weber State, while Brianne and I spent another year together at Dixie. Brianne now lives in Massachusetts with her husband and 2 kids. Amber spent several years in Memphis while her husband went to school but they moved to Price, Utah this last year with their 4 kids. I think I've actually seen more of Brianne than Amber in the last 10 years. But anyways, for the first time since I think my wedding (they were both bridesmaids) - we were together again. We have kept in touch through our blogs, but it was really nice to just be with each other, have some food, and reminice a little bit. Thanks Brianne and Amber - I had a wonderful time and I miss you everyday!

Sunday, February 1, 2009

I had another amazing opportunity to be able to go to church with Brianne today and see her daughter be blessed. My friends are spread out all over and I have only been able to go to a couple of baby blessings for their kids - so I was so happy that Brianne had her blessed in her home ward in American Fork. Holly is so cute and beautiful. This photo is of my daughter Beth Colleen and Brianne's daughter Holly Colleen a few days ago. Thanks Brianne for inviting me - I really enjoyed being there.

Beth has been sick all week and now JJ is too, so they couldn't come with me to church - so Joey stayed home with them. I think they are feeling a little shut-in and so to occupy them for awhile we did a little crafting. I found the most adorable Accordian Hearts on one of the blogs I read and they are really easy so we made some to hang around our house. It was a lot of fun. See how to make them HERE.

High/Low - January 23rd + Freebie

My LOW for this Week is that my house is a mess. Yep, I let it go this week and so I gotta do some big cleaning later today and I'm not very happy about it.

My HIGH for this Week was getting to see one of my best friends, Brianne! She lives in Massachusetts and I don't get to be with her very much. We have shared so many wonderful memories and I'm so grateful that she was brought into my life when she became my college roommate. We even got married only a day apart :) Thanks Brianne for a great day!

And I have a freebie for you today! For those of you who wanted extra weekly initials for the DIGITAL 365 Kit - here you go! (And let me know - would you want 2 letters for all the weekly days?)

Project 365: Week 4

Monday, January 19, 2009

The kids danced in the kitchen while I made dinner. We really like the fun songs by Laurie Berkner. "We're not perfect, no we're not. We're not perfect, but we've got what we've got. We do our very best. We do our very best. We do our very best each day. Cause we're not perfect and we hope you like us that way."

Tuesday, January 20, 2009

Yes, a historic day today. The inauguration of the United States' first African-American President. I can't say that I'm particular fond of Barrack Obama or the things he's planning to do and I wish he was a little more like say, President David Palmer (from 24), but it is a historic day. I'm not into politics and sometimes the future of our country and the people worry me sometimes. But there is one thing I can learn from President Obama and that is his motto. EMBRACE CHANGE. That is something I could use more of. The ability to not get so stressed about moving on and hanging onto my mistakes. Learn to let go and grow and learn. Yea, I could use a little more of that.

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

When Joey and I were dating we started a little tradition of squeezing each other's hands three times to silently say I-LOVE-YOU. We've shared this with our kids and there is nothing sweeter than when the kids say to us, I LOVE YOU, especially when they say it with their hands.

Thursday, January 22, 2009

Today was a great day. I love catching up and being with friends. My great friend and roomate from college, Brianne was here in Utah visiting with family. She lives in Massachusetts so we don't see her too often. She just had an adorable little girl Holly and has a 2-year-old son, Owen. JJ was at school but Beth and I went out to lunch and visited for a few hours and it was just so wonderful. I am the world's worst communicator and I don't stay in touch with my friends and family the way I should. I hate talking on the phone and I just never feel like there is much to say so I don't email or write. But I need to do better. Brianne and I were just saying that we are so grateful for blogs, so we can stay in touch with each other's lives. We've only known each other since 1997, but it feels like forever. I'm so grateful that we became roommates and that we have shared so many wonderful memories together.

Later on we had some peanut butter bars for dessert and Beth got pretty messy. She was sitting on the couch with Joey and as she held out her hands she said, "Dad, look! Now what can I do? What should I do with these?" She's just so cute! :)

Friday, January 23, 2009

Beth LOVES to stack her My Little Ponies together in all kinds of places, the table, the kitchen floor, her bed...but her favorite place is in the living room on the bookshelf. She's getting quite the collection and I haven't even pulled out my old collection for her yet. I think that's going to happen on her birthday. My sister Charity and I collected LOTS of My Little Ponies when we were little. I'm so glad I saved them so that I could give them to my daughter.

Saturday, January 24, 2009

I was woke up this morning by JJ. He was so excited to tell me what he dreamed about! He never tells us what he dreams so it was just so cute. He said, "I dreamed about bandaids....and they were ALIVE!" That's about all he said, but it made me wonder where that came from. I laughed about it all day.

I also worked on some upcoming blog train freebies today and finished 2 mini-kits that I think turned out pretty well. I need to get a whole lot more designing in than I am getting lately. I have just felt so tired for some reason. I am really having a hard time getting up in the morning. Guess I'm getting older and I need to start going to bed earlier. SIGH.

(And now you get a sneak peek at the blog train freebies that are coming in the next little while!)

Sunday, January 25, 2009

When we moved to Orem, one of the things we started doing was Sunday night dinners with my brother Cody, since he was in Orem going to Utah Valley University. Life gets so crazy and even though we lived so close to each other we just wouldn't even see each other unless we just set a time to do it. So Sunday night worked for us. When Cody started dating Becki, she began coming to our Sunday night dinners as well. I really loved spending some time with them and getting to know each other and sharing in our lives. When Cody and Becki got married, we stopped the dinners for awhile - life got hectic with Cody going to school and working, Becki working, Joey working, my designing and the kids stuff. Today we finally got our dinners started again. Now we will be having dinner on the last Sunday of every month. We will take turns having it at each other's houses. Very low-key and still great to visit and be together. We had a wonderful time at Cody and Becki's house tonight.

High/Low - January 16th + Freebie

My LOW for the Week was...hmm...you know what, I can't really think of a particularly bad thing this week! Can you believe it?

My HIGH for the Week was that I had a pretty relaxed week. No big deadlines to fill and so I just kinda lazed around and I finished up the whole LOST TV Series in preparation for next week's premiere. I also did some cleaning and a little design stuff - but mostly I just had time to kill - which was really great.

And I have a great freebie for you today! It's a bear that coordinates with my BED OF ROSEZ Kit. Hope you enjoy it!

HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Reading AngelZ Book Club Roll Call

So, if you haven't heard - I am hosting a Book Club every other month at Divine Digital. The neat thing about it for me is bringing Scrapbooking and Books together. I love reading - I love scrapbooking - I love Designing. All of it is in there!

Here's how it works: Read the Book. Come to the Chat. Do a layout about the book. Get a free kit!

So I hope you'll consider joining us! Our next chat is tomorrow evening (9pm EST in the Divine Digital Chatroom)! Read in the forum HERE for the book list and all the other information! Even if you haven't read the book yet - please come tomorrow and hear about the book and I'm sure you'll want to read it!

* The calendar above shows EST time - and the calendar at Divine Digital should show the time that is in your profile. But the chat is at 9pm EST - so calculate accordingly! Thanks!

So ROLL CALL? Who's coming tomorrow?

Is it too greedy to ask this?

Hey everyone,

I need a plug. And I realize this is not very nice to ask this - BUT I would love to be featured at DST and they are asking YOUR input right now on what designers you would like to see. So if you are a Gold/Diamond member of DST - and if you like my work - please check out THIS FORUM and suggest your favorite designers and I would be amazingly honored if you would pick me. :)

If you do it - go ahead and link to my DIGITALS STORE. THANKS!

Love to all of you!

Project 365: Week 3

Monday, January 12, 2009

Mondays are now Joey's official day for recording his podcast. Joey and Pete have started TREKWEST 5, a podcast where they review tv shows (starting with Star Trek, The West Wing, and Babylon 5 - hence the name). Joey is really enjoying this new endeavor and I was excited to be able to create a logo for them!

PHOTO REVISED: GOT A MUCH BETTER LOGO DONE!

Tuesday, January 13, 2009

We finally decided that it was time to put the Christmas tree away. The kids were not very happy about it - but they did help me get everything into the boxes. That's the nice thing about artificial trees is that you can wait as long as you want before putting it away - the tree is not going to die on you! I grew up with having real trees - so I really do enjoy that - but an artificial tree is nice too!

Wednesday, January 14, 2009

The kids love BUBBLES! They got some in their Christmas stockings this year and I finally let them use them today. They spent about 2 hours (on and off) blowing bubbles. It's really fun to see them having so much fun and actually playing together.

Thursday, January 15, 2009

Joey and I both love reading. Our home is filled with books and movies. I've been in several book groups and I really love the variety of books that I have read because of them. Books that I wouldn't have chosen myself, but had such an impact on me. A few months ago, I started an online book club that brings scrapbooking and reading together. Every other month we meet together in a chatroom and discuss the book, then we do a layout about our feelings about the book, and then I create a digital scrapbook kit inspired by the book as a posting bonus. It has been really fun and I enjoy meeting with members of the digital scrapbook community, getting to know them, and discussing books. This month's book was Cold Sassy Tree by Olive Ann Burns and the book club chat was held tonight. I've recently discovered audiobooks and this was one book that I actually listened to, instead of reading it and I am so glad I did. To some members the book was okay, but kinda boring, but I found the audio version wonderful! I loved the humor and relationships of the story very much and I felt the man who read the book on the audio did such a good job of bringing the characters to life for me. I didn't want the story to end.

Friday, January 16, 2009

Fridays are racquetball nights for Joey and Pete. Sometimes more of the Homestarmy boys join in, but most times it is just Joey and Pete. I love it when the kids and I get to join them. I try to occupy the kids while they are playing and then the tradition continues as we go out to eat at Mings! It's a Chinese restaurant with really great food. Joey and Pete are the owner's favorite people and he always treats us so well, like free calendars and last night, it was free dessert for Chinese New Year. I'm really glad that Joey has such great friends and I'm glad he gets his racquetball nights!

Saturday, January 17, 2009

I am a night person and I hate mornings. Even if I get 8 hours of sleep (which I usually don't), I still hate getting up in the morning. I rarely eat breakfast and Joey doesn't eat in the morning, so breakfasts around here are very simple and it is just the kids. It's usually yogurt and Nutri-Grain Bars and sometimes Cold Cereal. We do love breakfast foods like pancakes, eggs and bacon - but we usually serve it as dinner instead.

Sunday, January 18, 2009

One night, several months ago, we were putting the kids to bed and Joey came up with the Bedtime Express. As a family, we become a train and chug around the house with the last stop being the kids bedroom and their beds. The kids LOVED it! What was an impromptu idea became a nightly tradition. The kids take turns being the engine and caboose and it's the last thing we do before bed.

And here's my WEEK 3 Layout:

High/Low - January 9th + Freebie

My LOW for this week is well, once again let me just say "time of the month" and we'll leave it at that.

My HIGH for this week is that I am loving Project 365. I love the photos I am taking every day. I am loving the chance to use it as a journal. And I know there is a lot of room for improvement - but I love that I am actually scrapbooking! I am sharing the lives of my family one photo at a time! And I am loving the response I am getting from my kit DIGITAL 365. I have lots of other ideas on how to expand it - just have to find the time to get it all done. Thank you all for your support and for joining in on this project.

And I do have a freebie for you today! I'm currently working on a kit that will be in the stores next week! This is a little sneak peek in the way of a border! I hope you like it!

HAVE A GOOD WEEKEND EVERYONE!

Project 365: Week 2

Monday, January 5, 2009

JJ had to go back to school today. He was very excited to be going back on the bus. I meant to get a photo of him getting on the bus but I just didn't get to it. But when I went outside I saw the neatest thing. His footprints in the snow, leading to the road where he got on the bus. And when I finally went to get the mail after dark - I got some pretty good snow EYE CANDY! :)

Joey, along with our friend PETE, made their first podcast tonight. They are going to do it weekly and they are talking about some of their favorite tv shows, politics, and other things. Joey really had a great time tonight!

Tuesday, January 6, 2009

Beth got to go back to preschool today and she was so happy to get out of the house. Lots of snow today and the kids were excited to wear their coats, hats and gloves. We did a little grocery shopping after preschool and then just hung out after JJ got home from school. Each of them got a shower and we put them in their new pjs and robes to go get Dad from work!

Wednesday, January 7, 2009

JJ really loves the Lightning McQueen Car he got from Grandma and Grandpa Sorensen for Christmas this year. It walks, races, talks, and is just a fun addition to his toy collection. Today I finally was able to capture his excitement for the toy! This smile says it all!

Thursday, January 8, 2009

Today was kind of a downer day. I just felt a little under the weather, a little out of sorts, and just not myself. Nothing particularly exciting happened today. It was just kind of a BLAH day. There's only one thing you can do when this happens - and that's forget healthy meals and go with comfort food. So for dinner some of my favorites were on the menu. Kraft Macaroni and Cheese, Stove Top Stuffing, and for dessert came the Vanilla Ice Cream with hot fudge. YUM!

Friday, January 9, 2009

Before Joey left for his Friday night racquetball, he was working on his computer and JJ got really excited when he saw the Firefox logo on Dad's screen. He kept saying a word that we didn't understand. We rarely get details from JJ about what he does at school, so when he finally got the word he was saying across to us it was a real surprise. He was saying STARFALL and apparently it's a program on the internet that they use at school that helps them to learn to read and other learning experiences. We thought it was so neat that JJ recognized it from the Firefox logo and that we were able to find it and now we can play it at home! It's a great experience to have communication with JJ and to see what he is learning! A great day today!

Saturday, January 10, 2009

The kids have been playing Hide 'n Seek with their Dad lately and they totally love it and can't get enough. I managed to snap a few photos of their game today. The kids took turns counting. They were so cute as they shut their eyes, leaned against the kitchen counters and counted - Beth to 10, JJ to 20. Both kids can't contain their giggling when Dad is hunting them. They give away their hiding place every time. And it's a hoot when Beth finds Dad because she shouts BOO! It was such a delight to watch the interaction of the kids with their Dad.

Sunday, January 11, 2009

JJ loves Spiderman. Joey managed to get some Spiderman cartoons for him and that's all he wants to do now is watch Spiderman or play Spiderman or be Spiderman. No matter how much his Dad tries to convince him that Superman is much better, JJ is completely convinced that Spiderman is the best superhero. Maybe we will convince him eventually. After all, his middle name is Clark.

Joey went to the Casetta's house for a little while tonight to help Mike with his computer because as Beth said, "Dad is going to help EVERYBODY with their computers."

And here is my layout for the first week!

And here is my completed layout for Week 2:
