I Know the Scriptures Are True

So if you are LDS and happen to be in a Primary Presidency, 
I have a freebie for you today. 

I AM a part of my ward's Primary Presidency (specifically the second counselor), and I'm so excited about these posters that I created for the upcoming new year! I loved the posters that I created last year, but I love these even more. I'm so excited about how they turned out.

If you are in the Primary, you know that each month we have monthly themes that go along with the yearly theme, plus monthly scriptures. Many wards, including my own, like to display posters with the month's theme on it!

We wanted the kids to really delve into the scriptures this year and this is the perfect way to introduce the scriptures to the children. When they look at the posters, they can see what actual pages of the  scriptures look like and they can see and read the month's scriptures. It is making me excited to re-read the Book of Mormon this year and hopefully be able to share the great stories with the kids!

I have 2 versions for you. We love the big 16x20 posters but I also have 8x10 posters if that is easier for your Primary room! We actually use the big posters in our Primary room and the smaller posters on a bulletin board in the foyer of our church! The files are large because of the high quality jpg files!

Monday Magic - Daughter of a King

So I can't believe that I haven't blogged for 3 weeks - where does the time go? Yikes!  Well I'm back - I hope. Someday I'm going to get a handle on my life and actually be organized and balanced....yea, I always say that but I'd really like it to happen soon!

So I know you probably have all heard it and seen it all over the news and such, but there is a new princess - Charlotte Elizabeth Diana - and she is beautiful.  I have a fascination with the England Royalty, ever since Kate married Prince William. I stayed up late to watch their wedding on tv and I've enjoyed watching their family grow. I love their little family with the cute Prince George and now Princess Charlotte. I just love seeing a royalty family be so happy and you know "normal." I know we only really see what the press tells us, but I just think they are so cute and a family that I would like to really meet and get to know. I just think Kate is a good person and such a good role model.  And I guess thinking about a real Prince and his Princess having their "happily ever after" is enchanting to me.


One of the things I've been thinking about and that has always been important to me is remembering that we are all Daughters/Sons of a King. Our Heavenly Father is our true king and we are all his sons and daughters which makes us all princesses and princes. We are all special and no matter what, our Heavenly Father truly loves each one of us. We are not alone in this world - he is always here for us - only a prayer away. His Son and our brother, Jesus Christ is always there for us too - he suffered and died for us so we could live here on earth and then return to our Heavenly Father. We are all family and each of us has the wonderful potential to be a queen/king.

One of my very favorite songs is a song by Jenny Philips and she released it several years ago, when I was a leader of young women of my Faith. The theme for that year was Daughter of a King (the song title as well) and it just meant so much to me and I felt it was so important for our daughters and the young women of the world to realize that they are truly princesses and have the potential to grow up to be such wonderful women. 

Because we are all princesses/princes, we owe it to ourselves and to our Heavenly Father to be the best we can be. Yes, we all make mistakes and we struggle - but we all can do better. We are His Children - we can rise up and be the best we can be. Just because we are born as princesses/princes, doesn't mean we don't have to work and become better - we have the potential - we just have to endure and show our Heavenly Father who we really are. 

I hope that I can instill these things into my children's souls. They are important - we all are - we are royalty - our King loves us - we have the potential to be beautiful wonderful people - but we have to work at it - its not just given to us. We have to let the Savior into our lives and we have to be kind and honest and work towards all the good values in life. By doing so, we can reach our full potential. It's never too late and we all have our struggles, but we can KEEP MOVING FORWARD and get better every day.

Monday Magic | Because He Lives...

Easter is coming and its a great time to reflect on your personal beliefs.  

Of course, the Easter Bunny and the eggs and all of the Springtime Activities 

are a lot of fun and great family times, but for me - 

I celebrate Easter because Jesus Christ Lives. 

There is a beautiful song that the Primary kids in my Ward have been learning. It is called "I Know He Lives" by Clive Romney and it is now one of my very favorite songs of all time. I love the simple, yet powerful lyrics to the song.

This is my testimony. I know He lives and because He lives so can we. We can overcome this life and our mistakes and live with our Heavenly Father again. I know he died for me and lives for me and all of us.

So if you are LDS and happen to be in a Primary Presidency,

I AM a part of my ward's Primary Presidency (specifically the second counselor), and as per usual, I am behind in my duties!  This next Sunday will be the first of the year and of course we will be introducing this year's theme - I KNOW MY SAVIOR LIVES.  If you are in the Primary, you know that each month we have monthly themes that go along with the yearly theme, plus monthly scriptures. Many wards, including my own, like to display posters with the month's theme on it! 

This year, I designed our own posters and I'd like to share them with you today! I know that it is down to the last minute, but if you are like me and are looking for something you can download and get printed last minute, I have it for you!

I'm LDS - That's Why!

 

 

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. It is sometimes referred to as the Mormon Church or the LDS Church. I don't speak about it often here on my blog, because religion can be a hard subject to talk about and I don't want to offend anyone. But the truth is, I am proud to be a member of the LDS Faith. I have a testimony of Jesus Christ and I know he is my Savior.  I know that the scriptures are true, including the Bible and The Book of Mormon. I know Heavenly Father hears and answers prayers and I know that my family can be together forever. 

My church has been put on the spotlight a lot lately, with the fact that Mitt Romney - who is a member of the LDS Church too - is campaigning to be President of the United States. Of course with all religion issues, there are always people who disagree and there are misunderstandings. Check out THIS about one of the leaders of my church who with other faiths discussed religion and politics.

I feel like it is important to respect the beliefs of other and I hope that you all can respect mine as well.  I have decided that I wanted to share the truth about the beliefs of my church in a way that hopefully will be respectful, truthful, and just share a bit of my soul with you.  So I have decided to write some posts that will reference articles about my church as well as share my testimony with you, because this church is a huge part of who I am.  You, of course, can take it or leave it as you see fit.
