Just a reminder - 40% off Sale going on

So in case you haven't heard - I'm the featured designer at Digitals right now! I have an awesome daily download that I hope you aren't missing! I also have a 40% off sale going on too - so take advantage of it!

Family History TuesdayZ | Hot and Cold

Here is this week's journal prompt :

Each Tuesday, I am going to be offering prompts or ideas. If you don't write in your journal regularly - I am going to encourage you to write just ONCE A WEEK and answer the question/idea that I give on Tuesdays. These ideas hopefully will spark a memory and you will be able to capture that in what you write/record so that it can be left for your children/grandchildren/family/friends. Give as much detail as you can when answering.

Will you do this for me? Will you do this for your families? You can write it down in a journal, you can type it up on a computer or journaling software, you can take a recorder and talk, you can videotape your answers, you can even scrap a page with the journaling. It doesn't matter how you do this - it's just important that you do it. The memories, the dates, the information is the only real thing we can leave to our families when we are gone.

If I come up with other family history ideas - I will be sure to share it here too - and if you want to share with me your ideas - that would be wonderful and I'd be glad to share them here too. Just comment here or email me at dedesmith32@gmail.com.

New Release Monday + Show-OffZ Challenge 9/27/10

Join me every Monday for my new releases! Also on Mondays I will be posting a Show-OffZ Call for your layouts - so please don't miss that at the bottom of this posting!

Today I am releasing ICE!
I created this kit to coordinate with a book from my book club, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold! It was really hard for me to get started on the bonus kit because when it comes down to it the book was about a murder! But I eventually got inspired by the cover of the book, which I used for the swatch of the kit and I really liked the whole "icicle as a murder weapon" thing in the book, so even though it is just starting to be Fall - the kit ended up being more winterish! I hope you like it!

This week's Recipe:
Did you know that putting a few side dishes together can actually make up a nice meal? I made this one up a couple of weeks ago when I just wanted to put something together fast!

Rice-A-Roni Veggies and Stuffing
by DeDe Smith

1 box of Chicken Rice-A-Roni
1 box of Stovetop Stuffing
1 can of chicken (or some cooked boneless, skinless chicken breasts)
Broccoli or other vegetables

Prepare your Rice-A-Roni according to the directions on the box.

Add your chicken to it. I happened to have a can of chicken in my food storage, so I actually just fried that up with the rice-a-roni.

Prepare your stuffing according to package directions.

Heat up your vegetables. I actually had a package of that broccoli with a cheddar cheese sauce in the freezer and that was perfect.

Put it together on a plate and serve!

I will try it out and feature it on my blog! If you have cooking tips or anything else in regards to cooking and food - please email me!

This week's Recipe:
I was browsing my blogs one day and I discovered an easy way to make smores! I don't remember where I found it now - but this is fantastic!

Cookie Smores

Fudge striped Cookies
Marshmallows (try the different flavors they have now for extra fun)

You can always make smores the traditional way - get some chocolate and place it with a roasted marshmallow inside a graham cracker - YUMMY.

But here is another yummy way to make a smore - place a marshmallow inside a fudge-striped cookie! It already has the chocolate in it!

Tip: I don't have a way to roast a marshmallow at my house - no grill or place outside to make a fire - so I just put a marshmallow inside the cookie and put it in the oven for a few minutes - you could even use a microwave!
