Things Will Work Out

"It isn’t as bad as you sometimes think it is. It all works out. Don’t worry. I say that to myself every morning. It will all work out. If you do your best, it will all work out. Put your trust in God, and move forward with faith and confidence in the future. The Lord will not forsake us. He will not forsake us. … If we will put our trust in Him, if we will pray to Him, if we will live worthy of His blessings, He will hear our prayers”
(Excerpts from Addresses of President Gordon B. Hinckley - Jordan Utah South regional conference, priesthood session, 1 Mar. 1997).

What can I say...I needed this today.

Project 365: Week 39

Monday, September 21, 2009

I am grateful today for this wonderful preschool that Beth goes to and really enjoys. I love that it is within walking distance and I love that Beth gets to dance, karate, and singing in addition to academics.

Tuesday, September 22, 2009

We were amazed by the sunset today - it was in such wonderful colors and the gradient from yellow to purple was astounding!

Wednesday, September 23, 2009

Thanks to one of my dearest internet friends, Georgia - I was able to get my computer fixed. I expected that it wouldn't be done until at least Friday, but was surprised today when Joey brought it home to me! I missed my computer so much - I have been completely lost without it.

Thursday,
September 24, 2009

Sometimes life can just be prickly. We have had quite an awful month - with financial woes, our van dying on us, my computer problems, and then today I went happily off to play Volleyball and came home in tears.

I had been playing for about 3 hours and then when I went up to spike a ball, somehow my feet went one way and my body went another - and it hurt badly. I couldn't put any pressure on my ankle and was just embarrased as the men and women all stopped to try and help me. On the way to my car (with the help of some wonderful people), I got dizzy and the voices faded and I passed out for the first time in my life. I woke after a couple of minutes and a woman drove my car and me home with another woman driving behind us to take the other woman back to the church. These are people I just met and was so embarrassed about everything and was really in pain. I was so glad to see my house and have Joey take care of me. He helped me into the house and took care of me as I cried and tried to get myself under control. Joey listened to me cry, gave me ibuprofen and some sleeping pills and I finally after several hours drifted off to sleep, still in pain.

So life can just pile on the trials sometimes, but I'm trying to see the beauty in it. Just like weeds can have some really pretty flowers, I know that this trial is supposed to teach me something - there is something of worth in it - I just have to figure it out. At least it will give me some computer time and some down time - maybe that's what I need.

Friday, September 25, 2009

What a day. Of course, I was still in pain and felt guilty because Joey had to take care of everything for me - including getting the kids off to school and taking care of my every whim. We decided we should go to the doctor and make sure the ankle was not broken. Thank goodness it wasn't but we found it is probably a second-degree sprain and I got a brace. Joey missed a meeting and other work stuff today because of me, but thank goodness my Mom and brother came up today, so that he could go play D&D and do his podcast. Mom and Lane got here about 6 and they brought me some crutches so I could get around better. We went out to dinner at Iggy's with Cody and Becki and of course as I am still getting used to the crutches, I fell on the curb and hurt my ankle again. So it wasn't the most enjoyable time, but it was nice to get out and visit with family for a little bit. It was great to have Grandma help me put the kids to bed and everything.

Saturday, September 26, 2009

So another awful night and I just couldn't get mobile enough to go watch Lane run in his Cross Country Race at UVU. I pretty much slept the day away. Mom and Lane left to go back home and Joey took care of the kids. I finally got up and hopped my way into the living room so I could be near my family. The kids enjoyed playing with some new watercolor paints and I finished up my grab bag - thank goodness my computer is back.

Sunday, September 27, 2009

Sundays at our house mean church and Football. Well today, because of my immobility I wasn't able to go and because I am usually the one to get everyone up and ready to go - no one went to church today. I stayed in bed for the first half of the day, thanks to another unrestful night. And then we spent the rest of the day watching football together and the kids playing nearby. Our Colts won today handily and it was fun to see them play better than last week!

Joey had this nice experience this morning while I was still sleeping:

This morning, as I was sitting on the couch watching football, Beth came and climbed into my lap - this surprised me, as she doesn't normally show any interest in watching football with me. I asked her "Do you like football?" and she said "No, I don't like football as a movie, I just wanted to spend time with my Daddy."

Project 365: Week 38

Monday, September 14, 2009

I had my laptop open on the desk and I was doing dishes. I knew I had left a water cup in the bedroom, so I went and got it and on my way through the living room, I tripped over Joey's desk chair and the leftover water from the cup went directly into my laptop's computer! I couldn't believe my bad luck, I tried to dry it out and it worked for a little while with an external keyboard, but then it just wouldn't work. I'm so sad because we just don't have the money to fix it right now.

Tuesday, September 15, 2009

Chili for dinner and smiles all around. Beth had a Pajama day and stayed in her pjs all day and I didn't know until after I took these photos that she matched her brother's shirt!

Wednesday, September 16, 2009

I'm really glad that I am able to walk Beth to school. I'm getting some much needed exercise and Beth really loves it because we have that time for just the two of us. We have been talking about lots of things together and she loves that when I go to pick her up I have her favorite ham and cheese sandwich waiting that she gets to eat on the way home!

Thursday,
September 17, 2009

Thursday nights are now volleyball for me and I'm loving it. I'm really out of shape and I can't move the way I could in high school, but it's still a lot of fun. I'm so grateful for a husband who will come and put the kids to bed so I can do this!

Friday, September 18, 2009

Today was JJ's school's Fall Festival. We went for about an hour and the kids got to ride some ponies, ride the swings, and their favorite - shoot off some paper rockets!

Saturday, September 19, 2009

The kids each earned a special activity through their chore chart this week, so JJ got to go with Dad to have pizza and play at Chuck E. Cheese and Beth and I went to a great park that had these fun fountains that she got to wade in!

Sunday, September 20, 2009

We baked brownies in ice cream cones and then topped it with ice cream and sprinkles for dessert. So yummy!

High/Low - August 25th + Freebie

My LOW for this Week is that yesterday while playing volleyball, I sprained my ankle and it hurts pretty bad! I'm not able to put any weight on it and it's swollen. So my day is going to consist of propping it up, icing it, and laying on the couch all day - at least I will have my computer. My poor hubby has had to change his plans and get the kids off to school for me. My mom and brother are coming to stay with us tonight - so at least I will have help while Joey goes to play racquetball and do his podcast. There goes all my plans to get the house clean before my mom comes! Just another thing in my life right now!

My HIGH for this Week is that I got my computer back! I can't believe how lost I was without it. I probably spend way too much time on it - but wow it's good to have it back. Thank goodness the water spill only affected the keyboard, so after replacing it - the computer works wonderfully! Now to get caught up and get stuff ready for the Birthday Bash so I pay for the computer fix! Thank you Georgia - you really did save my life on this one!

I do have a freebie for you - just another couple of coordinating elements to my AHOY THERE MATEYZ Kits. Hope you enjoy it! Have a great weekend!

Frustration

So apparently my relief that my mac was still going to work was short-lived. My keyboard has now really shorted out and my external keyboard won't work either because I can't even login because it thinks the caps lock is down - ugh! At this point I'm just going to have to wait to have enough money to get the keyboard replaced and hope that is all it is. So I'll try to at least read emails and respond through my iPhone.

When it freaked out today I was trying to post my high/low & freebie - so I guess I'll have to get that to you later.

But don't forget to go to the 3scrapateers forum TODAY for a freebie of some coordinating elements for my Ahoy There MateyZ kit. It's only available today.

I hope you will all be patient with me through my time of trial! I'm so stressed about everything right now but I'm really trying to have faith that we'll get through this!

Princess Secrets

In December 2008, I finally got my hands on a project that pretty much encompassed all last year. I was able to illustrate a children's book, PRINCESS SECRETS and it was amazing to see some of my TearZ in print!

I just wanted to remind you all that I still have several copies of the book available! So check out THIS POST to purchase it!

Reminder

Just a reminder that tomorrow is the LAST DAY to purchase the 10 for $10 Deal and then it will be gone! So take advantage of it now!

THANK YOU!

Update on Computer Woes

Okay, so my computer works right now. The water seems to only have damaged half the computer and with an external keyboard works just fine. It's pretty annoying to have to use a different keyboard, but at least it works. So now I'm just behind on everything and I'm hoping I can catch up. I will probably need to get a replacement keyboard and hope that my hubby can install it for me. I just can't afford to take it into Simply Mac.

Now if my creative mojo will be with me I can hope to finish everything. Sigh - I am feeling the depression setting in- But I'm fighting it...

Computer Grief

Hi everyone. I am writing this from my iPhone. I am having some computer problems. Yesterday afternoon I tripped and spilled water into my laptop and I now can't get my computer to work. I have lots of emails to answer including orders to fill but I can't send those from my phone. I am completely devastated right now i don't have money to fix it & I am in the middle of lots of design deadlines. I'm hoping that it will dry out and be fine. In the meantime please be patient with me - it was not a good start to an already stressful week. If you are expecting links or other answers to emails - I'll get to it as fast as I can. I'm so sorry !

Project 365: Week 37

Monday, September 7, 2009

We celebrated Labor Day by just staying home and hanging out together as a family. We did have a picnic on our lawn too. The kids hung out with Dad while I did some designing.

Tuesday, September 8, 2009

Our day consisted of school for JJ, chores, and playing (spinning/dancing) outside!

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

What a day! Our van's head gasket blew last night and so we had to figure things out. Joey took the day off work and we got JJ on the bus. We were going to walk Beth to her FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL and then Joey was going to ride the bus/trax up to Salt Lake City to get Pete's car. He generously offered to let us borrow it until we get the van fixed. We were on the phone a lot last night trying to figure out a way to get our van to my Dad (5 hours away) so he could fix it for us - as we are really short on money right now. So we were already stressed and then JJ's school called and told us that we needed to come and get him because he was sick. And of course I needed to start walking to get Beth to school. So Beth and I walked to her school and Joey got a ride with a friend to go get JJ. I walked the mile to Beth's school, dropped her off and then walked the mile back home and just beat JJ and Joey home by about 10 minutes. JJ was crying and stressed because he had to come home from school. He had a cough and was sniffly. Joey finally got on the bus to head up to get Pete's car and JJ and I had to walk to go get Beth from school. Joey got the car and barely got back home before we had to get Uncle Aaron to come babysit for us so we could go on our date night that we had planned for a couple of weeks. So we got the kids settled and headed out to go back to Salt Lake City for dinner and movie (Nine) with Curtis and Anne, Jared and Bryn, and Pete and his date, Suzanne. We had a great night and I'm glad that the day ended well after all the stress!

Thursday,
September 10, 2009

JJ stayed home from school and the kids played all day. I was very amused with their creativity. One of JJ's favorite movies right now is BACK TO THE FUTURE and he was using Woody as his "Marty" and a shoe as his time machine! Love it!

JJ's school has a new policy where even just a little cold has to be checked out before the student returns to school (mostly because of the swine flu scare) and since Beth was sick a bit too today, we got an appointment with the doctor. It was just colds for both of them.

Our stake is starting volleyball on Thursday nights so I was so excited to be able to do that. I went and played for 3 hours - and I'm so sore, but it was a lot of fun. With this once a week and walking 4 miles, three times a week - I think I'm actually going to get in shape!

Friday, September 11, 2009

JJ stayed home again and we had to walk Beth to school. On our return home, I found a box on my porch and inside was an amazing surprise. My dear friend, Georgia sent me a Fairy Bear. It was so cute and lifted my spirits immensely! Thank you, Georgia.

I continued my goal to make cookies on Fridays. This time, I made no-bake cookies, but unfortunately, I failed. I couldn't get the cookies to set up - they tasted good, but it was pretty much like eating dough - got to figure that one out!

Saturday, September 12, 2009

I had the opportunity to spend the day at the ScrapbookUSA Expo. Even though I'm totally a Digital gal now - it was fun to walk around the booths and see all the fun scrapbooking supplies there are now. I met up with Sabrina and her cute daughter, Kalissa for awhile too and it was good to visit with her. I mostly sat at a table and tried to catch up with my Project 365 layouts. I've kept up with the photos and journaling on my blog but have really gotten behind on the weekly layouts. I was able to catch up on 4 weeks worth and though I was hoping for more - at least I got going on it. It was funny to sit at the tables and be one of the only ones with a laptop - I did see one other lady with a laptop, but not sure if she was scrapping. All around me was lots of traditional scrappers, but I did have one lady come up to me and watch for awhile. She had just gotten Photoshop Elements and was wanting to start digital scrapbooking - very cool!

Sunday, September 13, 2009

JJ has spread the cold to all of us now - Joey and I woke up with sore throats and the kids are still sniffly. So we stayed home from church today. The kids seem to be on the mend so I think I will send them to school tomorrow - but I thought we would give them one more day at home. JJ loves using Dad's computer to watch his Spiderman and so he got to do that for a little while today, while Dad watched his football. The Colts had their first game of the season today - they won, BARELY - but we'll take it!

And here is my layout for this week:

High/Low - September 11th + Freebie

My LOW for this week is my ongoing financial struggles. Our van blew a head gasket and after already paying $500 to van problems a few weeks ago, it's just not what we needed. UGH! But hopefully we will be able to get it down to my Dad and he can fix it and save us on the labor costs - we hope. In the meantime, we have an amazing friend who is letting us borrow his car. THANK YOU PETE - it means a lot!

- On that note - don't forget about my 10 for $10 deal! Only 5 more days to get this amazing deal!

My HIGH for this week is that I'm really proud of myself for exercising. I am walking over 30 blocks on Monday-Wednesday-Friday just to take Beth to-and-from school and I am playing 3 hours of Volleyball on Thursdays. I'm going to try and fit in a bit of Taebo next week too. I really need to lose some weight, but mostly I just want to feel better about myself - so hopefully this will help!

My freebie today coordinates with my upcoming AHOY THERE MATEYZ - don't forget to check back tomorrow (actually probably late tonight) for the release!

Have a great weekend!

I Remember...

I borrowed this photo from Royanna's blog - hope you don't mind!

I don't really have the words to express how I feel about this day. 8 years ago, I was pregnant with my first baby and really sick. I was laying on the couch and decided to turn on the tv and there it was. Such tragedy. The one thing I do remember is completely LOVING the way our country came together. I hated that we had to have a tragedy to come together that way, but so glad that even if it was only for a little while - that we all came together - it didn't matter who we were, we were Americans and it brought us all together. I hope we don't lose that completely. I hope we all remember not to judge one another - we all have our struggles, our weaknesses, and we do have our strengths. Let's remember that we are all children of our Heavenly Father and we should just love each other for who we are. Let's don't forget the REAL important things in life - our families, our friends, our memories, our religions, and let's live life to the fullest and just do the very best we can every day. That's my hope.

Thank you so much to all those who serve our country. God bless you and God Bless America.

Project 365: Week 36

Monday, August 31, 2009

Beth hung out with me all day. It was her "special activity." She got all her smiley faces last week, so she chose to be with mom and we went school shopping for her, out to lunch, and then played at home! I think she had a wonderful day!

Tuesday, September 1, 2009

I am so happy to be able to capture these fun moments when my kids get along. JJ was reading (to Beth) his little book he had made at school!

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

I worked hard all week to finish up my pirate kit. It gets released next week, but it was so good to get it done. I hope my customers like it - I always get so nervous after spending so much time on a kit - hoping that it goes over well. We'll see.

** So here is your sneak peek to the kit!

Thursday,
September 3, 2009

Another cute moment with the kids. I love it when JJ "protects" his sister. They were watching a cartoon together. Just cute!

Friday, September 4, 2009

We made chocolate chip cookies today. The kids couldn't wait for them to cool down so they could have one! I am going to try and make cookies every Friday - a fun tradition to start!

Saturday, September 5, 2009

We got some beads on Monday and the kids have been so anxious to get their hands on them. We made fun bracelets today that the kids, especially Beth, really enjoyed. Beth has worn the bracelet all week! JJ calls his bracelet, "his watch," much more masculine right?

Beth also got all her smiley faces again - so Beth and I went out for ice cream at the mall and bought some new princess figurines at the Disney Store! Beth insisted that we buy some surprises for Dad and JJ too, so Dad got some ties and JJ got some Little Einstein Figurines.

Sunday, September 6, 2009

After church we were just really tired, so we got in our pjs and just hung around the house for the rest of the day. Sometimes that is the best vacation there is - being together and lounging around the house!

What do you think?

So, just in case you didn't notice - I worked on my blog again. Basically, I just went from a 2-column to a 3-column, trying to help the blog be a bit more organized and easier to find things. My sidebar was getting way too long - now at least it is spread out into 2 sidebars. I also had to adjust my graphics a bit, but it is basically the same as it was before...

So what do you think? Is it easier to find things? I feel like it looks better and at least my products can be found easier with the list at the top! Plus, I am just really proud of myself for figuring out how to change the columns and stuff - thank goodness for Google! Let me know what you think!

My HIGH for this Week is that it's a 3-day weekend. We wanted to go down to my hometown for a family reunion, but the money just wasn't there, so instead we are just going to hang out as a family at home for 3 days - but it actually sounds really wonderful.
