Life 2011 | Week 18

Monday, April 25, 2011

We didn't get to our dessert yesterday, so we had it tonight. Is there anything better than fresh strawberries, fresh cream and some shortcake. Even though it sure doesn't feel like Spring - we just had to have this treat!

Pack meeting for JJ tonight. I was feeling pretty sick tonight, so Joey took him and Beth to it. I felt bad about missing it - JJ was presenting a poster with some information that we researched about birds. But it was nice to have an hour or so to just rest up.

Finally got the house picked up today. I've been failing in my housekeeping duties, but its always nice to have it looking decent.

Tonight after Beth's soccer game, we attended the school's art and music gala. We toured the halls looking at the artwork and the kids were so excited to see their art on the wall. Then we attended the benefit concert. we got home late, but it was a fun time for me and the kids. Joey has been getting into the local politics meetings and that was where he was tonight.

I had a special hour or so this morning with Beth. We woke up REALLY early and watched Prince William and Princess Kate get married. We just had a sweet conversation and it just thrilled her that she was seeing a REAL prince get married to his princess. It was adorable! I'm so glad we watched it! Later that day, Joey and I went to the Singing time with moms and dads in JJ's classroom. I can't believe another month has passed!

Beth's soccer game was canceled today - because of THIS! Yep more snow. It did leave later in the day, but crazy weather. We had a casual pajama day at home. Joey was gone all day to the Republican party convention.

Tonight right after our family movie night (Horton Hears a Who), we heard that Bin Laden was killed. We put the kids to bed and then watched President Obama's address to the nation. It's sad that we live in a world where it takes killing someone to make our world a better place. I feel conflicted with being happy he's gone and being saddened that I feel happy that someone is dead. I hope that this doesn't make everything worse. I try not to think of the state of our nation a lot - just because its kind of depressing. But I am proud to be an American and I'm very supporting of our troops.

And here is my weekly layout:
