My Birthday

So today is my birthday. I am now 30 and I am trying really hard not to be depressed about it. I have chats to prepare for, my house is a mess, I have a kit to finish, and I just don't want to do anything. So instead I am reading books and playing games on my computer - I guess that it is allowed to be lazy on my birthday right?

Everything else will just have to wait until tomorrow....

Project 365: Week 26

Monday, June 22, 2009

What a crazy week! I have a kit that I am working on that just never seems to be done no matter how long I spend on it. I'm trying so hard to finish it by next Monday and it is taking me every minute I have. I think I'm in for a lot of late nights this week!

I went outside to check on the kids this afternoon and I found them in the midst of a new game. Beth gets in the wagon (tipped sideways) and JJ runs around in a circle spinning her - They were both laughing so hard and having such a great time that I just didn't have the heart to stop them - even though it is not the safest of activities!

Tuesday, June 23, 2009

Our summer schedule is CRAZY! We are up earlier than when the kids were in school and with me staying up longer to finish some design work - I am really hating the early mornings. But JJ's summer school is just earlier so we have been doing it. I went in the kids room today because they were playing and I hadn't heard a peep from them and here they were just completely zonked out. I think the early mornings are getting to them too - they hardly ever take naps!

Wednesday, June 24, 2009

The kids have a new way to eat their Spaghetti. Last night they thought it was so funny that I took my garlic bread and put spaghetti in it. Tonight when we had Spaghetti for leftovers, they just had to try it too. The "Spaghetti Sandwiches" are a hit!

Thursday, June 25, 2009

This dinner is one of the best rated in my kids' opinion. While some nights it is a struggle to get the kids to eat - whenever I make this the kids go back for 3-4 servings! Deli Ham Slices on the bottom, Creamy Mashed potatoes topped with Cheese - baked in the oven for 20 minutes! EASY AND YUMMY!

Friday, June 26, 2009

The kids goofed around all day. JJ got out his LeapYear Alphabet and played that all day with Beth spinning in one of her dress-up gowns!

Saturday, June 27, 2009

We were able to attend a BBQ at a friend's house tonight. Their backyard was right by the West Valley Fair going on and we visited and had great food. We had also had AMAZING views of a gorgeous sunset and the fireworks!

Sunday, June 28, 2009

We carried on our Sunday tradition of watching a movie together. The kids snuggled with their Unicorn/Horses and we watched THE MAN FROM SNOWY RIVER!

High/Low - June 19th + Freebie

My LOW for this Week is that I just haven't felt at my best. Achy, sore, sniffly...and so so so tired - but I think I might have gotten rid of it now, thank goodness! I really hate being sick.

My HIGH for this Week is that TODAY is my 10th Wedding Anniversary. 10 Years ago, I got married in the St. George LDS Temple for Time and all Eternity. I'm so grateful to have found my best friend and soulmate in Joey. It has been a whirlwind of changes, happiness, struggles, and love through the years and I can definitely say that I am more in love with Joey now than the day I was married. Thank you Joey for the past 10 years - I LOVE YOU. Happy Anniversary.

We are going to a late movie tonight after the kids are asleep. Thanks Becki for watching the kids for us. We haven't gone on a date for awhile! It will be so great to just be us tonight! And then in a couple of weeks we are going to have a nice anniversary weekend in St. George-Cedar City while my parents take the kids for a couple of days! I CAN'T WAIT!

I do have a little freebie for you. It is a ScatterZ (and sneak peek) that coordinates with my upcoming kit - HAPPILY EVER AFTERZ. I still have a lot of designing left to do on it - but I'm REALLY TRYING to get it done and in the store next week! Wish me luck.

Project 365: Week 25

Monday, June 15, 2009

What do you do when are gone for over a week? Laundry, laundry, and more laundry! I think it's going to take me a couple of weeks to get caught up with some design stuff, laundry, and getting the house clean.

Tuesday, June 16, 2009

Today was JJ's first day of Summer School. He was so excited! It's an exciting thing that they have going this year. The Alpine School District and BYU have combined together to offer the special education students some more education for 5 weeks this summer. It gives BYU Students who are going to school to teach special ed the chance to actually work with students. JJ's teacher, Ms. Raines was in his classroom and he was so excited to see her! He also has a new teacher, Miss Sharp. He seemed to have a really great day and was excited to show me his fun artwork!

Wednesday, June 17, 2009

I'm coming down with a cold and just wasn't myself today. Headache and runny nose and just so tired! So I didn't accomplish a whole lot today but the kids were amazingly well. They played together so good and just let me rest. Plus they were happy with their not so nutritional lunch (since I just wasn't up to making much). They loved their cheesy fries and grapes and apple juice - hey, at least they got some fruit!

Thursday, June 18, 2009

I love Pajama Days! I completely slacked off today and didn't get up in time to get JJ off to school. Instead we just all hung out in our pajamas today. We played, watched movies, and just accomplished NOTHING. I think I just need this kind of thing every once in a while!

Friday, June 19, 2009

Today was the day! We have now been married for 10 years! I did a lot of reflecting today as I caught up on some housework. I love Joey so much! I'm so happy that we are married - he is my best friend. After the kids went to bed, and Cody and Becki came over to tend, we went to a late movie. We saw THE PROPOSAL with Sandra Bullock and I LOVED it. I haven't seen a movie (chick flick) that I liked so much in a long time. It was awesome time and I am so glad I got to watch it with Joey. HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

Saturday, June 20, 2009

We went swimming at the Fitness Center today. The kids really love being in the water. I really should get them lessons some time - but for now Joey and I are trying to teach a little bit. They had a great time and Beth cried all the way home because she didn't want to stop.

Sunday, June 21, 2009

Joey came up with an awesome idea today. He's really a wonderful dad! He came up with a lunch treasure hunt! I made the lunch and he hid each piece with clues for the kids to find them on a paper bag. Then the kids found the item and placed it in their bag. When they had finished the hunt, we spread a blanket out on the living room and watched a movie (Treasure Planet) while eating our picnic. The kids loved it. A wonderful thing for them to do on Father's Day! :)

Project 365: Week 24

Monday, June 8, 2009

After more working on the truck - we gathered a load of cows. We branded them and got a load sent off to Sink Valley. JJ got to go on the truck with Uncle Clint and Grandpa and Beth stayed with me so we could go gather more cows. She was so excited to finally be riding a horse! I can't believe that at her age, I was riding horses by myself. I feel kind of sad, that my kids don't get to do that - except for once or twice a year, but I guess that's just how it goes. The kids enjoyed playing in the dirt, riding horses, and riding Austin's mini-bike today!

Tuesday, June 9, 2009

I enjoyed taking pictures of the kids today, in between my branding duties. My brother, Clint had branded my name into the fence in 2005 (the year Beth was born) and today he added JJ and Beth's names to the fence. The kids got a real kick out of it, especially JJ. He was so proud! Once again, JJ got to go on the truck to Sink Valley and Beth stayed with me.

We had an extra fun night - Bruce Harris came out with his trailer and generator (his son, Blair and grandson, Stetson was already out here with us). He cooked us some amazing BBQ Chicken and Rice Pudding. And then while the kids were doing their thing - smores, games, talking - we played a game of Trivia Pursuit! I did awful - but I had a great time and I think I even learned some stuff. Beth was exhausted and went right to sleep and since JJ was on the truck - I could just enjoy being with my mom, my sister, and Blair and Bruce! We had a good time.

Wednesday, June 10, 2009

For as long as I can remember, my part of branding has been to vaccinate and to track the number of cows. The vaccination guns and the tracking systems have changed through the years (for the better), but I have always had this job. Occasionally, I have tied some calves, but I pretty much stay behind the scenes and that is really how I live my life. I like it that way. Not out in the spotlight - not the one really doing the heavy work - but the one giving support and keeping everything running smoothly.

Today....another load of cows off to Sink Valley (with JJ going on the truck again), another horse ride with Beth (she fell asleep on the horse for awhile), more visits with Kori, and more photo taking.

Thursday, June 11, 2009

"The last cup of hot chocolate and the last bale of Hay." That's what my Dad said this morning as we were branding the calves. I thought it sounded like the perfect title to a scrapbook page! Today is the last day at Bull Rush for this year. We packed and cleaned up camp, branded the last 4 calves (the biggest ones this year), and took lots of photos. Kori and some of Colby's friend's that came headed home. Colby and Clint took off hiking for awhile why Grandpa once again tinkered with his truck. When it was finally time to go - we loaded the cows and the horses and then we headed. As I took photos of the Peterbilt leaving camp (from the back of the white truck) - I felt kind of sad it was over. It seemed to go really fast this year. I didn't really ride horses as much and it just wasn't quite the same this year for some reason. But I'm still glad that my kids get to do this and I can only hope that this family tradition and way of life continues!

Friday, June 12, 2009

It was a slow, lazy day. The kids played outside all day and I played on my computer. Staying in my Grandpa and Grandma's House just brings back so many memories of my grandparents. I really miss them. Looking out the front door, I see my Grandma's beautiful peace roses. I couldn't help but take several photos of them and this one is my favorite!

Saturday, June 13, 2009

We were so excited to see Joey this morning! It was a long week without him! We were able to go up to Sink Valley and help my Dad and it was fun for Joey and I to ride horses together. The kids love it at the ranch. So much space to just run and play - they especially loved Daddy pushing them in the tire swing!

Sunday, June 14, 2009

We had a great week, but it was so nice to drive in and see the #13 on our trailer. HOME. We just relaxed today and I took a long nap. The kids were so excited to see their room and their toys!

High/Low - June 5th + FREEBIE

My LOW for this week was that it was that time of the month and I just didn't feel well at all. Thank goodness that's over for now.

My HIGH for this week was getting a lot of design work done so that I can take a break for a couple of weeks. It feels good to accomplish something! Although, I was wanting to finish my HAPPILY EVER AFTERZ Kit and I just didn't get the chance to work on it - I did accomplish a lot of other things - including BeacheZ, Summer SmileZ, and other coordinating products.

I have a little quickpage for you today created by my CT member, catlady - using my MomentZ Kit. Have a great weekend! I'll be back on the 14th!

Project 365: Week 23

Monday, June 1, 2009

Lately, the kids have been taking showers instead of baths. It is just faster and usually by that time at night, I just want to get them in bed. But they really do love to play in the bathtub. They will beg to stay in "just a few more minutes." And they love to see how wrinkly their hands get. They think it is just so cool how they get wrinkly hands and then it goes away!

Tuesday, June 2, 2009

I love the Rain. I love cloudy days. I love the coolness of the air and the feeling of just wanting to be home and relaxing. Today was one of those days. The kids and I spent some time outside in the rain and we took some fun photos. The kids loved hearing the thunder and it was just fun. I had always wanted to take a photo with rain against the window - but my point-and-shoot camera would never take a good one - I was excited to play with my DSLR today and get some fun shots!

Wednesday, June 3, 2009

I LOVE cheese fries and The Training Table has the best cheese fries with their awesome fry sauce (Hickory sauce and mayo). I was craving it today so since Joey got home early from work we went out to eat. YUMMY!

Thursday, June 4, 2009

It was time for summer haircuts! JJ had been needing one for a long time, but I just never got it done. But today we used a coupon and went and got it done. Beth got a couple inches off her hair too and I think they look really great!

Friday, June 5, 2009

We are leaving today to head down south. Laundry, Cleaning, and Packing has filled my day! This little trip happens every year in the first part of June. We go out to the Arizona Strip to help my Dad (Grandpa) move the cows to Sink Valley (or ranch). I have always loved this time of year. It's a time of hard work, but laughter and being with the family. It's a "time out" from the world. No electricity, no internet access, no tv.....a time of unplugging and just being together as a family for a whole week. I'm kind of having a hard time going this year - but, I think it's just because Joey isn't able to come with us. He is taking us down today, but has to come right back and work and then he will pick us up next weekend. Hopefully he will be able to come with us next year...

Saturday, June 6, 2009

We stayed at my parent's last night. Joey drove us to Orderville and then turned around and drove right back to Orem. He stopped and slept a little while but made it in the wee hours of the morning. He had a podcast to do this morning. The kids slept pretty good but woke early. They were so excited to be going out to Bull Rush. We helped Grandma run errands and pick up some things that she had forgotten to take. Everyone else was already out there. We waited for my brother, Clint to arrive from his scout campout so that he could come with us. Finally by late afternoon we were on our way - the kids could hardly stand it any longer. We got almost to the Bull Rush house and we met Grandpa with the Peterbilt, full of cows. The kids and I hopped aboard and made the trip with him to Sink Valley (our ranch). This was the 2nd of 6 loads to make. We got the cows out of the trailer and up the lane. The kids enjoyed riding the Gator to close the gate after the cows went through. Grandpa had to gas up so the kids played around the house for a bit and then we headed back. The kids loved riding in the big truck's sleeper. We made it back to Bull Rush in time for Dutch Oven Potatoes for dinner.

Sunday, June 7, 2009

The Peterbilt had some problems and Grandpa had to run back into town for some parts. So we got to hike around some canyons and visit with family! The best part of this annual trip for us is that the kids get to be with their cousins! Beth loves to be with Whitnee and they played pretty well together even though Whitnee is a couple of years older. And JJ just adores Austin. He is so good with the kids and takes really good care of JJ! Aunt Kori and I got to visit and take lots of pictures with our Nikon D40s. It was fun to share tips and just talk. After we hiked for awhile, we headed back to the house, where we just did NOTHING for the rest of the day!
