High/Low - September 26th + Freebie

My LOW for this week is that my kids have been sick. Tuesday night - I decided to check on my kids one more time before heading to bed. They had both been coughing quite a lot and I thought I would check to make sure they didn't have a fever or something. I walk in and my daughter was asleep but had thrown up all over - she had it all over her hair and pillow and blanket and nightgown. She was finally sleeping good though so I hated to wake her up. I think she just got coughing so bad that she gagged and everything came up. Anyways, so I woke her up and gave her a bath and cleaned up everything and by the time I got that done JJ had started a coughing fit and woke up too. I spent the next 4 hours holding and rocking them both - my hubby finally got home and let me go to bed and he even let me sleep in a bit the next morning so I was very grateful - but still I hate it when my kids are sick.

Then Wednesday - JJ was much worse - coughing all day and wouldn't even eat (and he usually just eats ALL DAY!). His cough was starting to sound like asthma so during my Wednesday Chat at Digitals - I had to give JJ a breathing treatment. Luckily it was a Designer Spotlight Chat so they could just chat and I didn't have to do too much. Anyways, but right after the chat - my son had a seizure. He hasn't had a seizure in over a year and half and I really thought he had outgrown it. He has a low tolerance for fevers, so he has had several fever-induced seizures in the past. But he came out of it okay so we were just going to take him to the doctor in the morning - but then 4 hours later he had another one and we were worried because we just couldn't get his fever down. My hubby took him to the ER while I stayed home with our sleeping daughter. A couple of hours later, JJ was home and okay. Came out of the seizure ok and his fever had broken and the doctors said everything was okay. So besides exhaustion (me and my hubby didn't get sleep last night) - we are doing ok. JJ is a lot better now and we have kept him medicated for fever and both of the kids seem better. Luckily, I feel a lot calmer about it this time - usually it panics me so much - but I'm doing okay this time. But it has really been a long week!

My HIGH for this week ......well, okay so with the week I have had, I actually had a hard time finding a high this week. But besides being very grateful for my wonderful hubby and that my kids are on the mend.....I am kind of excited about Divine Digital's new look. DD is starting to implement a new look to the site - logos, colors, and....new preview cards! They look fantastic and I do love them. Once I started thinking about it though - I got a little depressed. The thought of re-doing over 100 previews was just time consuming! But I came up with a way to make it so much easier! I am now just adding my regular preview to the square in the preview card - so now it has the DD flair with my own touch! I love it and have started getting to work updating all my previews....and so this just makes the whole process easier - I just transfer the old previews to my regular preview card and then place that card in the DD one. This will make it so easy on future kits as well! Anyways, so one of the first things I have done is put my A LITTLE BIT OF COWBOY CHARM Kit into all of my stores! This kit was my very first kit and has been exclusive to Divine Digital but I decided to put it in all of my stores (including here on my blog)! So check out the new preview cards, featuring this kit!

Basketball Kit

Okay, so I am finally working on my sports series - JUST HAVETA PLAY. Right now, I am working on a basketball kit. I want to make this kit work with boys and girls and I'm going for a more realistic look (with the addition of my tearz) - but, I am having a creative block. Which is weird, because I actually played basketball in high school, so you would think I would have ideas, but at this point my creativity seems to be gone LOL So I need your help again! Give me your ideas on what you want in a basketball kit! :)

High/Low - September 11th + Freebie

So I missed last week's HIGH/LOW mostly because I just didn't feel like I had anything to say. But a good friend, Pete kept mentioning to my hubby so I guess I better do it this week! LOL! (Thanks for caring Pete!)

Honestly, I have had too many LOWs this week with not feeling well, financial stresses, not having our vehicle fixed yet, and other little things that just made it a rotten week for me! BUT I don't want to dwell on it, so I am trying to find the blessings in my life and so I'll just share some of the HIGHs for the week instead. :)

DESIGN UPDATE:
So I have actually been on a roll with designing lately. I am the coordinator for the Birthday Bash 4 at Digitals coming up on October 1-8th and we have tons planned. But I was able to get my grab bag done (3 new products), my blog train freebie done, my mega kit submissions done as well. AND my Sister by Heart, Georgia and I almost have another kit done for you all! So lots of new stuff coming up and I'm feeling good that I'm caught up for now.

In regards to the book I illustrated, PRINCESS SECRETS, there is a little bit of a delay there. We got the proof back and some pages turned out way too dark, so I am having to do some more work on it (hopefully I will finish today) and then we get get another proof and make sure that everything looks right! Unfortunately, my funds to purchase the books to sell on my blog are no longer available - so, I am going to have to rethink some things - we are hoping to get this book published within the month - how do you all feel about doing a pre-order here on my blog? Would you purchase that way?


PERSONAL UPDATE:
So one of the good things this week is a result of the fact that I am pretty caught up on my design work - I have actually had the opportunity to READ! I even stopped my movie/tv obsession this week and just read. Would you believe I finished the whole TWILIGHT Series again (by Stephanie Meyer - 4 books), plus I re-read one of my favorites, THE PRINCESS by Lori Wick, and using my iPod I finished listening to THE SILVER CHAIR - by C.S. Lewis (4th book in the Narnia series). So it has been a fun thing to get into some different worlds this week!


So, my daughter started preschool this week! I just can't believe what a social butterfly she is. She's only 3 and I really thought I would wait an extra year before sending her to school, but she just wouldn't have that. JJ has been going to school for like 3 weeks now and she wanted to go with him everyday. So finally her preschool started and she was just so excited. She is going for 2 days a week (Tuesday & Thursday) for 2 1/2 hours each day. It's not enough for her - she would like to go every day - but we can barely afford the 2 days thing, so it will just have to do.

So let me tell you how the first day went. So on Tuesday, we sent JJ off to school on the bus at 8:40am and then had to get in the car immediately to get Beth to her preschool at 9am. We meet her teacher and get her backpack hung up by her name and then she says "Leave, Mom." So I left LOL. 2 1/2 hours later I come back and all the kids are playing on the playground. Beth sees me and she says, "Go home Mom, I want to stay here." LOL And then she cried all the way home because she didn't want to leave. So much for separation anxiety - geez! So she just loves school!

And I never shared JJ's first day pictures either so I thought I'd do that now too. Unfortunately, we didn't get a very good one out of him - he looks like he is grimacing instead of cheezing it - but whatever. That's just JJ. He is still doing good at school and I think he is learning a lot . He still loves riding the bus and his teacher so we're all good!

Here's something funny that JJ said last night. We were having dinner and I gave each of the kids a cup of Blueberry Applesauce. Joey was being funny and he said - that is purple octopus sauce. The kids thought that was really funny, and JJ turned to me and he said, "Mom, it's purple applesauce, huh?" And I told him yes, it was and then I said, "So is Dad right (purple octopus sauce) or is Mom right (purple applesauce)?" JJ looked at Joey and then me and he said, "Me, I'm right!" Such his father's son...always has to be right. :)






Well I think that is pretty much it for today! Here's to a better week coming up! Have a great weekend!
