High/Low - August 1st + Freebie

Hello everyone! I'm sorry that I didn't do High/Low last week - I figured with the Polar Blog Express Freebies that it would do ya! :)

My LOW for this week is that I have totally let myself go this week. I was trying to just relax and be lazy, but it was kind of more than that...I did dishes, but the rest of the house is just a disaster - I hardly got out of my sweats all week. Kind of in a bit of a depression or something. And what made it worse was that I just couldn't concentrate on anything and those stupid nagging voices in my head kept saying that I needed to clean the house and do stuff with the kids. I should have listened to it. I really want to find a balance between everything so I get it all done and still feel good about myself - I am really feeling not good about how much weight I have gained lately - I hate exercise, but I just need to find something that I can do at home and just DO IT. ...oh well, it's the weekend and I'll start fresh on Monday right?

My HIGH for the week was that I finished the book I was illustrating! It feels really good to get that done and I feel so proud of what I accomplished! Thank you all for commenting in the previous post about what you will buy! It's so exciting for me! I think I will most likely purchase some of both the paperback and hardback books - so stay tuned - hopefully I can get them for my blog within the next month or so. I just can't wait for the proof to come so I can actually see it all in print! SO EXCITING for me!

DESIGN UPDATE: So I have cutback a little bit on my responsibilities. I've stopped hosting the Digitals Quickies Challenge and the 3S My Favorite Things Crop/Challenge. But I do have a new ScatterZ Forum Challenge at 3S and I just made the August posting, so go check that out. Last month I had a total of 10 crops! Can you believe that? In August I have my weekly Wednesday crops, plus I will be hosting another 3S HnH crop on August 26th - so I only have 5 crops this month! I will also be trying to finish 3 kits this month, plus the next ScrapStyle ezine issue will be coming out on September 1st, so I will need to do it! So hopefully I can get all of this done this month!

PERSONAL LIFE UPDATE: I have actually really enjoyed being with my kids this summer. It has been so hot, so we really haven't spent much time outside. I really should take them out more, but I don't handle heat well, so I haven't done that. We have spent a lot of time inside, watching movies together - which is our family favorite thing to do. We've been able to be all together a lot and it's been fun to go to a couple of movies at the theatre and spending Friday nights watching Daddy play raquetball and going to dinner with friends. I can't believe Summer is almost over. JJ starts 1st Grade on August 18th. He will be going to a special autistic small classroom - which I think will be good for him. He will be going ALL-DAY this year...I am really nervous how that is going to be for both him and me. But I'm sure after making the adjustment we'll be okay. He's been a little more emotional lately and he has a hard time knowing what to do with his emotions, so he lashes out - mostly on his sister, so we are still trying to handle that one. But he can be such a delight too. It's so fun to see him learning and he always surprises me with his memory - he just remembers everything. He's been really attaching himself to stuffed animals lately. It's kind of cute. Beth is doing good - I just can't believe she is 3 and she is just such a girl. Her emotions change constantly...but mostly she is either really happy or really grumpy...there's not much in between LOL. She loves her ponies and dolls. Both of the kids really love playing outside, watching movies, and pretend play. I love it when they actually get along together - which is really small moments where they will play together.I really crave those moments and have learned to just sit and watch and enjoy when they are actually doing good together, because they just have this love-hate relationship most of the time! LOL One of the greatest things that we did lately (at least for me) was last weekend. We had a few sparklers so we let the kids do that in front of the house and it started to rain. And we just let the kids run around in the rain, me and Joey danced a bit and ran around with them in the rain. Such a relaxing, fun, romantic thing for me. It was just so peaceful. I really love rain. I don't have any photos of the experience (dang it) but it will remain a special experience to me. I hope it rains again soon.

Anyways, so I put together a little collage of my latest photos that I thought would be fun to share (I put this together in like a minute - so it's nothing spectactular):

And I do have a freebie for you today! I created a little textured solid paper pack for you! I hope you enjoy it! Thanks for all of your support and have a great weekend!

Dede,
Thank you for these adorable papers!! They are really pretty. I'm so happy for you with the book. That is just awesome. I agree with you and the heat this year. It has been horrible. I also want to say that you have an adorable family. The kids are getting so big. Why can't they just stay little??

Looks like you guys have been having fun! Don't get down on yourself for having a lazy week though...I think we all have them! My house is always a mess...I've just come to accept it. I think the majority of homes across America are a mess...there's more important things to do than make sure you house is spotless all the time! You are still a great mother, wife and a best friend forever! Love ya!

Thank you for the gorgeous papers!! I love the colors! Don't be so hard on yourself about your house!! I firmly believe that as a wife and mother you are entitled to have an occasional lazy week! You are especially entitled to that luxury upon finishing the book! I would imagine that the minute you sent it off you did a happy dance then let out a big sigh and collapsed on the sofa! As for exercise...my gosh, you sound like me...or I sound like you!!! "I hate exercise, but I just need to find something that I can do at home and just DO IT..." Wow!! How many times have I said that to myself...then done nothing!! You have so much to be proud of, so many accomplishments, focus on those things that you DO get done rather than the ones you don't!! {{HUGS}} Congrats again on the book!

Thanks very much, these are great colors! Sounds like you've been spending your energy on your family, and on something creative, that's a lot more important in the long run than a clean house, JMHO :)

We've been in the rain for about a month now but starting today we are jumping to close to 100 and they said the heat index will be at least 105... not looking forward to that.

I'm not seeing images on your blog all of a sudden.

Ty for the papers...I look forward to unzipping and seeing them.
