High/Low - March 28th

My LOW for the week is once AGAIN my inability to get things done. I feel so behind and unbalanced and stressed out. I feel bad because I really DO love designing but it is starting to not be fun anymore because I have TOO MUCH TO DO. And the worst part of the whole thing is that I totally did this to myself. I feel obligated to sign up for things at my stores because I know it is what keeps the sites going and I want to take part in everything...but I really have piled too much on myself this time. I feel like I am letting everyone down..the store owners, my design teams, my customers, my family....I just feel completely out of sorts. I am having a hard day today. I was keeping up with everything just fine for a long while, but it is now starting to catch up with me. I am not sure what direction to take. I just feel so uncreative! I have canceled as many of my deadlines in the next couple of months as I can, but there is still a lot to do before my brother's wedding. Sorry for the rambling, but I'm just not sure what to do right now. I want to fulfill my committments and do a good job at it and get it all together. Really not sure what happened to make all of this fall apart on me. Anyways, just a hard day. My daughter had to have dental surgery early this morning and she was pretty grumpy but she is actually doing really good now. So I need to post here and send off a Digitals Crop Ad and then I can pack for my little get-away. I'm going on another overnight stay with some ladies in my church. We are once again going to a cabin for some relaxation and fun. Hopefully it will really help me to feel better about myself and to get myself together so I can plow through the things that I need to do! Please be patient with me!

So sorry about all that rambling...sometimes I guess it really helps just to get it all out! But I do have a very good HIGH for this week! So we got a pretty good tax return this year. Some of it went to fixing our old van, some to debt, and my amazing husband bought me a new computer and CS3! My computer is over 6 years old and has started giving me a little trouble and I have been very scared of it completely dieing and not having a computer. But now I finally got a MacBook Pro! Yep, for the first time in my life I finally have a laptop. I'm just so thrilled! CS3 and a 500gb hard drive comes on Monday. I just feel completely blessed. I've been working on getting it all setup! And I am just so excited about how fast it is and the ability to run Windows as well as my Mac OS. I have 4GB Ram and a 250gb internal HD. Much better than my old desktop Powermac G5. I love my old machine, but it was time to get a new one and now I am so happy . I got a good deal on a brandnew still sealed laptop on ebay so we were able to do it. So I'm not completely setup yet and I have to wait until Monday to get CS3, since CS2 won't work on the new Mac system, but hopefully soon I will be all setup and ready to go. Maybe this will help me to be a little more creative as well. Everytime I see my laptop, I just can't believe it! I never expected to be able to get one so soon. Thank you very much to my Joey! He takes care of me so well! Thanks honey! He is so good to me. He admitted that he is completely jealous that I got a new computer and he doesn't...but it will be his turn next time. :)

So here is me and my new Macbook Pro:

Anyways, I need to go shower, send the weekly Digitals Crop Ad, get packed and get the kids stuff together for my hubby. Thanks all for your patience and understanding during my rough time right now! Have a great weekend and see ya next week when hopefully my spirits will be back up!

Hey DeDe. I saw the photo on Digifree and wondered what the story was behind it. Firstly give that wonderful hubby a big hug, good on him. Secondly, make sure you do not over commit yourself. Trying to be superwoman does not work. I have tried it and I am burning out, I found out today I have shingles because I took on too much (can't say no to anyone) and have got run down. So take the breaks you need, and stand in front of the mirror and practice saying "no" or if that is too harsh "sorry I can't take that on right now". I think sometimes God taps us on the shoulder, we need to listen.
From one burnt out superwoman to another !

Congrats on you new laptop!! I love that photo of you holding on to it like you are daring anyone to try and rip it out of your hands!! I'm so very sorry you are feeling so out of sorts. I do hope your get-away helps. If designing is not fun for you anymore then it is time to take a long hard look at your obligations and do some 'weeding'. You can't be creative if the joy is gone. {{HUGS}} Many thanks to you and Nighty for the gorgeous QP! Thinking about you and keeping you in my prayers!

DeDe, I am so sorry that you are feeling run down and over extended. I am the same way right now as well.
I've always found it extremely difficult to say no to anyone, and I really wish that I could.
I've come to the conclusion that I really need to just take things one day at a time.
And, congratulations on that awesome gift. I'm jealous.
