Each Tuesday, I am going to be offering question(s) or idea(s). If you don't write in your journal regularly - I am going to encourage you to write just ONCE A WEEK and answer the question/idea that I give on Tuesdays. These ideas hopefully will spark a memory and you will be able to capture that in what you write/record so that it can be left for your children/grandchildren/family/friends. Give as much detail as you can when answering.
Will you do this for me? Will you do this for your families? You can write it down in a journal, you can type it up on a computer or journaling software, you can take a recorder and talk, you can videotape your answers, you can even scrap a page with the journaling. It doesn't matter how you do this - it's just important that you do it. The memories, the dates, the information is the only real thing we can leave to our families when we are gone.
If I come up with other family history ideas - I will be sure to share it here too - and if you want to share with me your ideas - that would be wonderful and I'd be glad to share them here too. Just comment here or email me at dedesmith32@gmail.com.

Life 365: Week 13
Monday, March 22, 2010
Could it possibly be Spring? I think its getting there. It was warm enough today for Beth to have her lunch outside - picnic style! She loved it! She played with her dolls and just had a nice afternoon. JJ joined her outside when he got home from school and they just loved not being cooped up in the house.
Tuesday, March 23, 2010
A busy day. Beth and I went shopping and we stocked up on all of our groceries and things we needed. Then we came home, put most of it away, and we were off to JJ's first pinewood derby! JJ was so excited! Every scout's car got to race 6 times - once on each of the tracks and then they totaled the times within each den's. We were so excited to find out that JJ's car won the wolf den! He is so proud of his trophy! The most wonderful thing about it is that I know that JJ was so happy to just be able to race his car - winning was secondary to just having fun.
Wednesday, March 24, 2010
Having an old vehicle can be the pits sometimes. My dad has put a lot of hours into fixing it for us and when I went to get it licensed, I found out it didn't pass Safety Inspection because I needed a side marker lense. After some research - I found out that certain part was discontinued - so I was calling Junk Yards and stuff with no luck. I finally found the part online - ordered it - and Lewis Cox put it on for me today. So I finally went back to Jiffy Lube and got my sticker for another year. Yay!
Thursday, March 25, 2010
We spent a lot of time this week on the road doing shopping and errands. I've never been more grateful to be a 2-vehicle family again. My van might be very old and everything - but I'm so grateful to have it. It's nice to just be able to go out and do what I need to do without having to schedule time to take Joey to work and get the car. Beth was my little helper all week, taking care of the things that I have been putting off!
Friday, March 26, 2010
You know its Spring when you get to have Fruit Salad for lunch. Beth and I loved it!
Saturday, March 27, 2010
JJ had a coupon to Trafalga Family Fun Center as part of his prize for Student of the Week - months ago. It was expiring and so we finally took our family there. Its right across the street from our trailer park and we still have never gone there until today. Anyways, so the kids got to play arcade games, we went miniature golfing, and we got to have pizza, drinks, and dippin' dots. The kids loved it.
Sunday, March 28, 2010
Beth had a rough night. I guess it was a little too chilly yesterday and I shouldn't have let the kids be outside for so long. She coughed all night and she's losing her voice and just having a hard time breathing. So we spent the day in front of this handy little vaporizer! JJ's a bit stuffy as well, but Beth got the worst of it this time. Ugh, I want the sickness to all go away!
And here is my weekly layout:
I used my PRACTICALLY PERFECT & DIGITAL 365 to create this layout!

High/Low: March 26, 2010 + Freebie
My LOW this Week was that I got a bad stomach ache last night. Not sure if it was something I ate or what is going on - but I'm still feeling pretty awful today. UGH!
My HIGH for this Week was watching my son participate in the Pinewood Derby. Joey and JJ have been working hard on their little car and it was so fun to see him do so well. JJ got 1st place in the Wolves Den and got a little trophy. The really great thing about it is that I know JJ was just having fun racing - he didn't have to win to have fun and enjoy it. Actually winning, was just the icing on the cake.
REMINDER: Today is the deadline for this week's Show-OffZ Challenge! I would love for you to participate!
I have a freebie for you today - just some bunny ears that coordinate with my Hippity Hoppity Collection (coming on Monday!) Hope you like it!
ENJOY AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Family History Tuesday - 3/23/10

So I hope you will all enjoy this and participate! Let me know what you think!
Some have asked me if I was going to share my journal entries each week. I've given it some thought - and I've been trying to answer my own questions in my own journal - I feel like the answers are pretty personal and for now I'm going to keep them to myself - but I might share when I feel like its appropriate! Thanks!

Life 365: Week 12
Monday, March 15, 2010
I spent the day lounging in my motel room with take-out food, hot shower, a book, and my computer. I did a lot of thinking, resting and playing. It was wonderful. Meanwhile, Joey and the kids got to go to a play based off the children's book, "If you give a Mouse a Cookie." The kids LOVED it. They also went to school and then enjoyed an evening with Joey. I'm so grateful for such a great family!
Tuesday, March 16, 2010
I came home at 5am. I was ready to be with my family. It was a busy day with laundry and cleaning up the house from being away.
Wednesday, March 17, 2010
Happy St. Patrick's Day. I discovered last night that I didn't have anything Green for Beth to wear. The only thing we had was a yellow stripe shirt that did have some green in it. So we went with yellow-green and I made Beth a green bead necklace and beads for her hair. She was so excited to be so decked out for school! JJ and Beth had a great time at their fun St. Paddy day activities. I spent the day busily trying to get some things done - like getting my van inspected (didn't pass) and trying to find a side marker lense for an old van. Hopefully we can figure something out. Joey was able to work from home today because his foot was hurting pretty badly. It was nice to have him around!
Thursday, March 18, 2010
Beth has been on a puzzle streak lately and we only had 1 puzzle in the house. So today we took a trip to the store and found some puzzles. A big horse one and a Disney puzzle collection that had 8 puzzles in it. JJ, Beth and I spent hours today on doing this 550 piece puzzle. The kids went to bed and it still wasn't done, so Joey and I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning getting it finished. Silly us - but it was worth it in the morning to see how excited Beth was!
Friday, March 19, 2010
Joey came home a little early today and treated us to ice cream at a fairly new shop here in Orem! It was a lot of fun - it was self-serve and you could get your choice of flavor(s) of yogurt/ice cream and they had all these bins of toppings that you just could add whatever and you paid by the weight. Yummy! Afterwards, Joey went to do his podcast and the kids and I had a quiet night at home.
Saturday, March 20, 2010
JJ and Joey spent the day finishing up their Pinewood Derby Car. They had to get it weighed and handed in tonight and so they had to get it done. I think it turned out great. JJ was so excited to get to help. Beth did some puzzles and played while I worked on my computer for most of the day. We went out to eat at Training Table for dinner and it was really great not to have to cook!
Sunday, March 21, 2010
After church and naps, we decided to go to Chuck-a-Rama for dinner - they have lots of great comfort foods on Sundays so it was nice. We came home and since it was already almost bedtime we needed something kind of short for Family Movie Night. We decided to watch a part of The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe, since we are reading it. We watched up to when the kids meet the Beavers - since that is where we are in the book right now. I think it really helped the kids to comprehend the book better.
And here is my weekly layout:

High/Low: March 19, 2010 + Freebie
My LOW this Week was that I just didn't accomplish a whole lot this week - but at least the house is semi-clean and I spent time with my kids this week!
My HIGH for this Week was that I got to get away by myself for a couple nights in a motel. I relaxed, had take-out, read a little bit, got some sleep, and played on the computer - all stress-free. It did wonders for my spirit and I came away a much happier person. My hubby is amazing for giving me this wonderful gift.
REMINDER: Today is the deadline for this week's Show-OffZ Challenge! I would love for you to participate!
I have a freebie for you today - just a little bear with an easter egg! Hope you like it!
