Keep Moving Forward

This week has been hard. It has probably been one of the hardest weeks of my life. The emotions, struggles, fights, depression, stress and more has really broke me this week, starting with some pipes breaking at 3am on Sunday morning. My spirit was lost this week and I'm not really sure why some of the things hit me so hard, but my computer crashing, being yelled at and being told how my family should live our lives by a former friend, having to do repairs on the house, money struggles, feeling like we need to move, and just feeling like I couldn't take it anymore. And I kind of crashed. I could feel the depression just fill my soul and it hurt. I haven't been a good mom or wife this week. I haven't been happy and I know the long nights where I couldn't sleep and then the complete drain of all my energy made it so I couldn't get up in the morning either. I know I have so so so many blessings and things to be grateful for - but it was so hard to see it this week. I just really struggled.

Yesterday I was watching Meet the Robinsons with my kids and I was really struck with the KEEP MOVING FORWARD motto. We make mistakes, life is hard, but we can keep moving forward step by step. We just have to do the very best we can. I struggle so much with letting go and accepting Heavenly Father's help - giving my struggles over to him and so he can carry me. I'm slowly learning that it is the only way we can truly be happy. So this is me - letting go. This is me doing the very best I can and I know that Heavenly Father will do the rest.

Tonight was a turning point. I fed the kids and got them into their pajamas a little early tonight. Joey brought his brother over to watch the kids and we went out. We don't go on dates very often and even though money is a bit short right now - we needed it. Joey surprised me by first taking me to Simply Mac to pick up my computer! I didn't know it was done and we were also surprised to find out that they fixed it for FREE. I still don't know why it was free (we don't have a warranty on it) - but it was a huge blessing. I didn't lose anything and my computer is working fine - I'm typing on it right now. After having just one more little panic attack - I was able to enjoy the evening. (Sorry honey - I didn't mean to start the night out like that.) We went to Olive Garden for my favorite Chicken Alfredo and then we went to Time Travelers Wife at the dollar theatres. Joey and I both really enjoyed the book and so it was fun to see the movie too. It felt good to cry over something besides my own problems! :)

And as just one more additional bonus of the day - I'm going to the 3:30am showing of Twilight: New Moon. This book series has been a guilty pleasure of mine and I really didn't expect to go to it on opening night - but its just one of those evenings where I just want a little more time to myself. Joey isn't interested in it at all - so he'll stay home and watch over our sleeping kids and I'll just go out and spend a couple of hours and let myself over to the Twilight story for a little while. Yes, its crazy to go to a movie at 3:30 in the morning - but I've been crazy inside all week and I think doing something a little crazy will be good for me. I'm going to be tired tomorrow and I know there is so much I am going to need to catch up on now that I have my computer back, but I'm just going to give myself a break. Because we can all use a break every once in a while.

I'm going to KEEP MOVING FORWARD.....

What do you want?

So I've been thinking a lot lately about my blog and I want to do MORE with it. So I need help! Right now, I have the following:

Creative Inspiration - layouts by my CT with my kits
Ads - I try to advertise my new releases and my sales and crops, etc.
Products - I sell my products here too
High/Low & Freebies - On Fridays, I give my High and my low of the week and offer a freebie
Project 365 - This is my family journal - I try to post this on Sundays (but it could be later) - of the previous week's daily photos and a bit of journaling about the day.

So what I need is some ideas - what do you want to see on the blog? What would make you visit more often and make you happy? What makes you visit a blog?

Thanks and I hope everyone is having a great weekend!

High/Low - November 13th + Freebie

Okay - I'm really sorry, but for some reason I have slacked off on my blog the past month or so - well actually I seem to be slacking off in a lot of areas lately - just feeling worn down or something - anyways, but I'm sorry and I'll try to get myself together and do better! Thanks for your support and patience!

My LOW this Week
was once again that I just couldn't get motivated to do anything in the design area. I did some cleaning this week - I played with my kids - and I watched a lot of Gilmore Girls, but nothing really happened in the design area. And it's really depressing me - but hopefully my mojo will come back next week!

My HIGH for this Week is that it really feels like Fall this week. Overcast days, rain and we are even supposed to get snow here tomorrow. These are my favorite days to just stay in my pjs and hang out with my kids and watch movies and read books. Yep, I did a lot of that this week.

I have a freebie for you today - it is some solid papers that coordinate with my Heart EqualZ Home Kit, which is the Download-a-Day at 3Scrapateers. I hope you are all picking up each day's piece! Also going in my stores shortly is some ClusterZ, StackZ, & ScatterZ & some Quickpages that coordinate with the kit too!

ENJOY AND HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!

Project 365: Week 45

Monday, November 2, 2009

I love it when my kids are silly and happy at the same time! Today I was working on my computer in the bedroom and I could hear laughter coming from the living room. A second later the kids came bursting in - they had found 2 pairs of Joey's racquetball glasses and they thought it was hilarious to put them on. I quickly grabbed the camera and took a photo - my kids are too cute!

Fairy tales do not tell children the dragons exist. Children already know that dragons exist. Fairy tales tell children the dragons can be killed. - G. K. Chesterton

I heard this quote on twitter today and just loved it. My kids love hearing stories and watching movies and just using their imagination. I love hearing them imagine and play together and I really do think that fairy tales help them to learn about life and how to truly LIVE in it. Thank goodness for good stories!

I'm on a GILMORE GIRLS kick again. This show holds a lot of sentimental value to me. It started after Joey and I had been married for a few months and it was the first show we watched together. We watched every episode together until the show ended and it just became a part of us - our family. Everytime I rewatch it - its like I'm reliving my life and also like I'm a part of Stars Hollow. I seriously want to live in that town! :) Anyways, so I am rewatching it as I am designing and it is always a nice thing. In fact, it makes me want to have another baby girl so I can name her Rory. :)

Showers have become the norm around here, but the kids still enjoy an occasional bathtime! Actually the kids always love it - its me that makes them take a shower because its faster. I really am trying to slow down my life because a bath really is a nice thing to do every once in awhile!

Friday, November 6, 2009

I love watching Joey play with the kids. He's so much better at it than I am. I'm always feeling the stress of my to-do lists and I don't take the time to get on the floor and play, but Joey does it. It's not uncommon to find him even playing ponies or dolls with Beth. He's such a good daddy.

Our day started very early. We are not morning people, but we were able to book a early morning family photo shoot with a photographer in my church. I have been following her blog for awhile and finally got talking to her and was able to do a trade with her - I designed her some design stuff and she did a photo shoot for me. We left the house at 7:30am and went to a fun railroad location and spent about an hour getting fun shots of our family, Joey and I as a couple, and individual shots of the kids. I really can't wait to see how they turned out! Thank you Maria!

We went to Salt Lake City for church today. We were able to go and be with Brandon and Sabrina as they blessed Kalissa. Afterwards we were able to join friends/family at their house and visit for awhile. We even watched the end of the Colts game at their house (they barely won - but we'll take it). Then we went home and relaxed for the rest of the day. It was one of those days where we needed comfort food - so for dinner I made some homemade noodles with vegetables and served it over mashed potatoes. SO GOOD!

My LOW this Week was my inability to get stuff done. Procrastination and not feeling real well was a big part of my week and the results were not good. Let's hope that next week is better!

My HIGH for this Week is that I spent a lot of time (while trying to get design work done) - watching one of my favorite shows of all time - Gilmore Girls. I really love this show and I miss it - I wish it was still on the air!

Also remember to head over to 3Scrapateers for the Friday Freebie as I have a VillanZ Quickpage for you! Project 365: Week 44

Monday, October 26, 2009

Tonight for Family Home Evening we carved pumpkins - well actually "I" carved the pumpkins and the kids watched. I have never actually carved pumpkins with my kids - so this was a first and very successful might I add! I was pretty proud of the cute little faces that I was able to make, complete with eyelashes for Beth's GIRL PUMPKIN! I'm only sad that Joey had to work late and didn't get to do it with us!

Tuesday, October 27, 2009

The season's first snow fall came today! It didn't stick to the ground but it was still beautiful and I was very content to just stay in the house with the kids and watch movies - perfect weather! Love it!

Wednesday, October 28, 2009

Beth's school portraits came today and they really did turn out very cute! The photographer had fun little accessories for them to use like hats, tutus, feathers and phones. Beth still talks about that day and how fun it was.

October 29, 2009

The kids were so excited today because tomorrow is their Halloween parties at school. I let them put their costumes on and they wore them all evening! Halloween is coming!

Friday, October 30, 2009

Today was so fun for the kids! Joey, Beth and I went to JJ's school to watch JJ's costume parade and then we took Joey to work, so that I could have the car to take Beth to school. They each had such a great time at their school parties and they got to wear their costumes ALL DAY! We took some fun photos outside when they got home and even though I couldn't get a good one of them together - I was very happy with the ones I got individually! JJ was Spiderman for the 3rd year! Hopefully we do something different next year - but he still loves it so I guess that is all that matters. Beth was a princess riding a unicorn and I couldn't have gotten a more perfect costume for her - she loved it! She named her unicorn "Sarah", which is her favorite name in the world - she has a lot of other stuffed animals named Sarah too! So fun!

We also spent the evening with Pete, Brandon, Sabrina, and Kalissa - since they came down for Raquetball and the Podcast - I made dinner and we just enjoyed visiting and being together - really a great time!

Saturday, October 31, 2009

I think this has been my favorite Halloween season EVER! The kids excitement really has made it so fun for me. Today was just kind of an easy day - since the kids did most of their celebrating yesterday. We did take them over to the mall for trick or treating and they had a good time and we were only gone for about an hour. We went home and lit the Pumpkins, had a fun dinner of Hot Dogs wrapped in dough to look like a Mummy and Salad and Mummy Rice Krispie Treats and the kids had fun handing out candy to trick-or-treaters!

Sunday, November 1, 2009

Joey and I were sick today - we woke up just feeling awful, so we didn't make it to church. We spent the day just relaxing and trying to catch up on sleep and getting over our colds. The Colts won again so it was fun to watch that as well, since Sundays are football days in our family. I also spent some time designing on the computer. Joey and the kids finished the day by watching 1776 on tv. JJ didn't make it very long and was put to bed and when I went to check on Joey and Beth - this is what I found. Is there anything better for a little girl than falling asleep in her daddy's lap? So cute!
