High/Low - October 30th + Freebie

My LOW for this Week is that I didn't finish one of my coordinating kits to VillanZ done on time. The Scrap-a-Deal has gone live (check it out at 3S - and I will post about it later this weekend) and I just didn't get a pack called MORE VILLANZ done. I was busy this week and did a lot of designing, but I'm not sure why I couldn't quite concentrate enough to make this last one happen, but I'll be working on it over the weekend and hopefully I will finish it in the next few days. Just kind of bums me out when I don't make a deadline! UGH!

My HIGH for this Week has really been the excitement of my children for Halloween. They were so excited for TODAY when they would get to wear their costumes to school and get candy and have parties! They have been so excited everytime I have done anything relating to Halloween, even putting the candy in their backpacks was just so exciting! We were able to carve pumpkins on Monday and I've been doing some fun little Halloween crafts/treats and it has all been worth it when I see the delight from JJ & Beth. I've never been much into Halloween before - but I think I caught the magic of it this year and done so much more than I usually do - I can see how this could become one of my favorites.

I have a freebie for you today! It is a cluster frame that coordinates with my upcoming 3S Download-A-Day for November! Don't forget to visit 3S everyday starting on Sunday so you won't miss a piece!

Have a great Halloween weekend!

Project 365: Week 43

Monday, October 19, 2009

We got JJ's school pictures back today. I always debate whether or not to purchase the school pictures because they are expensive and I don't ever use all the prints. But it's a school memory that I hate to miss out on so I always do it. This time they had a digital copy available - YAY! And really so far, JJ's school pictures have been great - he's always smiling - so it's all good! This one will be a memory of his crooked tooth that I hope we can get fixed soon!

Today was Joey's 33rd birthday. He didn't really want to celebrate it though - so I didn't even make a cake. I had made some Eclair pie though so he got that and he blew a candle out with his fingertips. LOL My parents and brothers came up to stay at my house tonight and I made dinner. It was fun to hang out and just be with them! Cody and Becki came over too - so it was great!

I got to spend time with my family today. Beth skipped school and went with me and my parents to Lane and Colby's State Cross Country Meet. It was really fun to see my brother and my nephew run in the same race. They did amazing and it was so awesome to see them cross the finish line - Colby just a few steps ahead of Lane. They both made it in the top 10 so they got some great medals and their team placed 5th - not too shabby for not having a team even come to state in several years. After the race we went to dinner with my sister's family and my parents and brothers before they all headed home.

I spent a lot of time doing some design work today and almost finished up my VillanZ Kit. But I didn't get a photo today and actually I really wanted to share a couple of cute photos of Beth and Whitnee from yesterday. Beth loves her cousin Whitnee SO MUCH and Whitnee is really good to play with Beth even though she is 2 years older. It was so fun to see them play at Sugarhouse Park as we waited for Lane and Colby's race to begin. These girls are so cute!

Today was Beth's field trip to the Pumpkin Patch with her preschool. I was so glad that I could go with her. It was fun to get to know her classmates and their parents a little bit better. We went through a corn maze, played on some awesome slides (including Beth's favorite slide where you went down in a burlap potato bag!), petted some animals, went on a hayride, and got to pick a small pumpkin to take home! Beth had so much fun!

Since Beth went to the PUMPKIN PATCH we decided to do something fun with JJ today too - so while Joey was gone doing his podcast, we had a "P" night. After dinner we got in our PAJAMAS, watched PETE'S Dragon, and had a snack of POPTARTS and POPCORN!

Saturday, October 24, 2009

JJ finally got a haircut today - it's been needing it for a long while - I really think he looks good with short hair. We also got a little grocery shopping done. Joey had the opportunity to go to the BYU vs TCU Football game. BYU lost badly, but I think Joey still had a good time-he says that somehow watching TCU is going to help our Utes team do better against them. :) While Joey was gone to the game - we took the 2 little pumpkins that Beth got from the pumpkin patch and created a little Halloween Decoration with some things I had on hand. We put some beads on a string and wrapped it around and created a little spider and ghost to go on top. I think it turned out cute!

Sunday, October 25, 2009

I sang with the choir in church today - I am really glad that I have the opportunity to sing again. It's a wonderful outlet and so fun. We also had home teachers come over for a visit and we got our temple recommends renewed.

I love seeing Joey with the kids - especially at bedtime. He has such a fun routine with them - including choosing the stuffed animal that they each get to sleep with for the night. Tonight as we had scriptures and prayers at their bedsides - I just couldn't help but pull out the camera and get a few shots of Joey and his little girl!

High/Low - October 23rd + Freebie

My LOW for this Week was that I just never can get everything done that I want to. My to-do list never shrinks and I really want to find balance in my life. I took a detour on design this week and finished up the fall cleaning of my house and it just took longer than I thought. So now I am rushing to finish kits right before deadline again and I'm at the point with my VillanZ kit that I am not sure it's good enough. I hope you all will like it and that its just my imagination that it's not very good! LOL I really need to slow down and enjoy life more - if I could just get a handle on some of my to-dos.... Does anyone else feel like this?

My HIGH for this Week was having my family here for a day. I was able to cook dinner for my parents and brothers (and sister-in-law) on Tuesday night and it was fun to just visit and be together. Then on Wednesday it was great to go and watch my brother and my nephew run in the Cross Country State Championship! They both got in the top 10 and it was awesome to see them come to the finish line together! Afterwards we met with my sister and her family as well and we all went to a late lunch. It was great!

I have a quickpage freebie for you today - it is a little sneak peek into my VillanZ kit that comes out on Halloween!

Project 365: Week 42

Monday, October 12, 2009

Today I walked Beth to school for the first time since I sprained my ankle. It was hard and it hurt, but I made it and I'm so glad! It was a very long day. Had a hard time sleeping, so I only got a couple of hours of sleep. Because I walked so slow, I missed JJ's bus coming home and he was home alone for about 10 minutes and he was so scared because "he couldn't find me." I felt awful that I didn't make it back in time, but it doesn't look like he will be scarred for life or anything. Just a really tired day!

Tuesday, October 13, 2009

It rained today and it just feels like Fall Weather! We finally were able to find a ride for our van to go to Orderville so my Dad can fix it for us. The kids enjoyed watching the van get put on the "big truck" and it feels so good to finally get it down there.

Wednesday, October 14, 2009

Another rainy day. I really do love Fall Weather! I made some Bone Breadsticks to go with our Spaghetti tonight - the kids LOVED IT. They really like it when I do fun stuff for the holidays. I really need to do it more. I just don't get into holidays anymore and everything feels like a hassle, but when I see the delight on my kids' faces - it gives me motivation to do it. Another successful Over the Hump Chat tonight too!

Thursday,
October 15, 2009

I have decided to do Fall Cleaning this year. My house has totally gone downhill since I sprained my ankle. It is time for cleaning and organization. I accomplished moving the bookshelves and all my office stuff into the bedroom today. I cleaned it all out - got rid of stuff and organized. It may not look the cleanest, but it is organized chaos - so it's much better. I am now using the little side table I got from Grandpa Baker's house to put my hard drives and laptop too. I spend most of my computer time in the bedroom anyways and now Joey can use the desk for all his computer stuff - which frees up my kitchen table! Things are much better now! I really hate housework - but it sure feels good when its done!

Friday, October 16, 2009

The kids had fall break on Thursday and Friday, so they have been home with me. I feel kind of bad that I didn't do anything exciting with them this week - but I think they just enjoyed being home and actually they have liked helping me sort through everything and clean. They have found all kinds of treasures that have made them happy. We cleaned up the living room today - and organized all the books and everything. It's looking really good. We did take a craft break today and made up some cute little paper bag puppets with some craft supplies that I forgot I had! The kids had a lot of fun and it was fun to see them smile and play together.

Saturday, October 17, 2009

We just cleaned again today - finished up the living room and started in on the kitchen. We got paid so I did some much needed grocery shopping at Costco and Walmart.

I forgot to mention that on Wednesday, JJ came home with this amazing certificate. He is one of the students of the week at his school! He got some great coupons for some free meals at some restaurants. He is such a good friend and example and help to the other members of his class and his teacher and I'm so glad he has found a place in school that he enjoys! I'm so proud of him!

Sunday, October 18, 2009

A regular Sunday this week. Church, Choir practice for mom, nap, and a priesthood meeting for Dad. I made some Ravoli for dinner and Beth was so happy! It is her favorite and I haven't made it in a while!

High/Low - October 16th + Freebie

My LOW this Week is that I have a stupid cold that is sucking the energy, motivation, and life out of me.

My HIGH this Week is that even though I have a cold, I have been able to make some progress on my VillanZ Kit and have started FALL CLEANING. Although I hate cleaning, I really do love how it looks after it is done. I was able to move all my scrapbook/office stuff into our bedroom yesterday and go through it all and get rid of stuff I don't need anymore. Plus I now have a little desk setup (well really it's a side table - but it works) in the bedroom since with my laptop that is usually where I end up anyways. That leaves the whole desk in the living room for Joey and since I moved the bookshelf - now there's more room for Joey's stuff, so that I can actually use the kitchen table again for you know - meals. I think it's going to be good. I am hoping to finish the living room today too.

I have a freebie for you today - it is some solid worn papers that go with my NOT SO SCARY KIT - or can just be used as halloween/fall papers! ENJOY and I hope you have a great weekend!

What a day!

This day has been an adventure. I couldn't sleep last night so I stayed up and read scriptures, planned a Family Home Evening Lesson, took a shower and started a batch of laundry. At 6:30am I decided maybe I could sleep a little bit and I got about an hour and a half of sleep before it was time to get JJ up and ready for school. His bus was late and didn't get here until 9am. At that point I was just exhausted so I went back to bed for an hour before I had to get up and walk Beth to school. Today was the first time I have made the excursion to Beth's school on my hurt ankle - 4 miles total. I did pretty well, although it took me almost double the time it usually does. After dropping her off and getting home - I put more laundry in and got some work done on my VillanZ Kit then had to walk back and get Beth.

So Mondays are JJ's early out day and he usually gets home at about 2:50-3:00. Well it's 2:40 and Beth and I are walking home from her school and we are a couple of blocks from home when I see JJ's bus pull into the trailer park! UGH! I'm not there. And of course I'm going as fast as I can and I can't run and my foot is tired and hurting. I don't know why the bus is early, but I'm just not going to make it. So we hurry as fast as we can and when we finally get home about 10 minutes after JJ's bus drops him off. JJ opens up the door (he heard us on the porch) and he has big crocodile tears coming from his face and he's crying so hard. "I looked everywhere Mom and I couldn't find you." It broke my heart. I'm always here when JJ gets home from school and today I wasn't. It was a huge deal to him and he was really scared when he couldn't find us. That 10 minutes must have seemed like forever to him. I just sat and held him for awhile and got him a snack and I hope he knows that I love him and that I will always be here for him - even if I'm just a little late.

And now I'm really just beat. I had plans to deep-clean the bathroom today and the dishes need to be done - dinner cooked and laundry needs to be folded. Not to mention I need to work on the VillanZ Kit, the 3S Daily Download kit for November, and a kit that I am making to trade with a friend. But really I just want to take a nap - do you think I could get away with an hour rest and then get to work? I'm really considering it.......

Project 365: Week 41

Monday, October 5, 2009

I think the Crockpot is one of life's greatest inventions. I really need to use mine more. I stuck some chicken, some pinapple and some teriyaki sauce in the crockpot in the morning and it cooked all day. All I had to do was cook up some rice to go with it and dinner was done for today. Why can't I remember to do this more - it really made my day so much easier and dinner was so good! Today was my first day without crutches. The ankle is still weak and I am still using the aircast, but at least I am getting around better!

Tuesday, October 6, 2009

I was able to go to the Relief Society Enrichment tonight and it really felt good to get out of the house. It was craft night and I was able to make these adorable Family Home Evening Dice. One dice included the names of my family members (2 are blank so I can add to them as my family grows) and the other dice included all the components of a Family Home Evening (Lesson, Activity, Song, Prayer, Treat). You roll each dice to see which family member is going to do what thing for FHE. I thought it was a really cute idea. I think we are going to stick with me and Joey doing lessons for awhile, but the kids can do some of the other things for it!

Wednesday, October 7, 2009

Beth got to go on a field trip for school today. They went over to the fire station and got to talk to the firemen and see inside the fire station, the fire trucks, an ambulance, and even got to sit in an emergency helicopter! The firemen gave them little fire hats and cotton candy! Beth was so excited to get to wear her Center Stage shirt and jacket for the first time too!

Thursday,
October 8, 2009

Fall is in the air and its definitely time to start bringing out the jackets. It was pretty cold this morning and JJ got all snuggled up in his new jacket as we waited for his school bus!

Friday, October 9, 2009

Beth's little tradition after school is to have lunch (pretty much always a ham and cheese sandwich) and get to eat while watching a couple of her shows. But she is so funny because I think her favorite thing to watch is COMMERCIALS. Joey thinks maybe she is going to go into advertising or something because she just gets a kick out of commercials and doesn't like when we fast forward through them (thank goodness for TiVo). Silly girl!

Saturday, October 10, 2009

Joey spent the whole day in Salt Lake City in some meetings so we just had a casual day at home. The kids played all day and I spend most of the day on my laptop doing the part of designing that I don't particularly like - the advertising and loading new products into my stores. It's time consuming and it took all day but I finally got it all caught up.

Sunday, October 11, 2009

The Colts played the Sunday Night Game and it was fun to see them win and do such a good job. I really love being able to watch football with Joey and even though we watch football really different - I'm the vocal one and Joey is very quiet - it's still a wonderful thing we get to do together!

Project 365: Week 40

Monday, September 29, 2009

Beth was such a good girl today. She was my little helper and since I couldn't carry things since I had to use crutches, she helped me do laundry and dishes. I am so grateful that my kids are old enough to be independent and able to help me as I just feel so helpless right now. I'm also so grateful to Cody for his help picking Beth up from school! I couldn't do this without the help I'm getting from my family!

Tuesday, September 30, 2009

Joey's parents came up today and took our car to get it fixed. We haven't been able to use the car for over a year and it isn't even licensed, so we are so grateful that they were able to come up and get it. Our parking space looks so bare now since Joey's car is gone and we moved the van over to the guest parking until we can get it to my Dad to fix it. I'm so grateful to Pete for letting us use his car for awhile and for all the help our parents are giving us. I think this trial is definitely teaching me patience and to be humble.

Wednesday, September 31, 2009

Quite the storm we had last night - lots of wind! And we had another huge branch of the tree fall on our trailer. It even woke the kids up.

Thursday,
October 1, 2009

JJ was so excited to finally get to wear his Spiderman shirt to school. The weather has turned cooler this week so we are pulling out some of the long-sleeve shirts and this is JJ's new favorite shirt. Thursdays are always fun days as it is PIZZA DAY at JJ's school and that is his favorite food - you can even see some of the sauce still on his face!

Friday, October 2, 2009

Beth loves to stack up her toys when she is playing. I loved her little circle of Disney Princesses and My Little Ponies. I was playing with her the best I could - since I couldn't get down on the floor with her with my hurt foot. Joey's dad got our car fixed, so Joey hitched a ride to St. George with Clark and brought the car back up today. He got back way early in the morning but its good to have our car back.

Saturday, October 3, 2009

We listed to General Conference today and we also returned Pete's car. We just hung out together as a family and when Joey saw that CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MEATBALLS was playing we decided to head to the movie very last minute. It was a fun way to spend an evening and a cute movie!

Sunday, October 4, 2009

It was nice to just stay in our pajamas today and watch General Conference. It is so nice to be spiritually uplifted by hearing from the prophet and the apostles. In between sessions we whipped up a batch of Ghost Pancakes! The kids thought it was so much fun!
